i believe we started long division in the 3rd grade.
not that i can remember how to do it...

My 5 year olds are doind Long subtraction (dynamic subtraction).
However, its a private Montessori school in an wealthy area in Austin, TX. It's pretty wild. They can also do dynamic multiplcation, dynamic division, and fractions. I wasn't doing it until second or third grade.

Long subtraction? You mean 25-13. They better be learning that in grade 2 at the latest. If not then kids are retarded nowadays.

You learn single number addition and subtraction in grade 1. Basic multiplication/division and longer subtraction and addition should be in grade 2. If not...read above.

Is this where parent brag about their kids math abilities. Well my twin 7 month old daughters are already doing multi-variable calculus. My sweeties make Gauss look like a tool Smile
