It makes me sick that the question of whether or not this woman should be thrown in jail is even a question. Freedom of religion != Freedom to murder your children. ...and yes, it was murder, just as it is murder to stop feeding someone strapped to a gourney.

Yeah, I had a good thread going on a similar topic. Come one morning, it was deleted. the debate was good. But, someone must have flipped out during the night and posted some emotional crap.

Both sides of the debate lose reason and resort to ad-hominem attack.

Let logic and argumentation rule the day.

However, mindmetoo, they, on the sides of the christians, must hate you with your endless demands for evidence!

I'm not sure it is murder. If they really believed that praying would save her, it can't be murder. Stupidity, yes; murder, no.

Can they be held negligent?

These people are adults. They should know better. It doesn't matter what their excuse is for not taking their child to the hospital. The fact that they purposely did not do so means they are responsible for the death of their child regardless of what religious book they want to hide behind to have an excuse.
