She's in a sort-of Nazi type uniform. However, I think the uniform is rather ambiguous--no obvious Nazi markings.

In the second ad you can hear German (I think hitler) in the background.

I dunno...it's just a pretty fucked up marketing campaign in all regards.

I see all military equally--I can't object to this anymore than I could if it were a Russian/North Korean/Chinese/American/Albanian or whatever uniform.

You see them all equally. Well, that's nice.

igothisguitar, Coreanan and Korean Krappy Kulture's anti-semitism is retarded beyond description.

Yes...I agree. A video showing a group of fez-wearing turks riding a train to Armenia while holding swords would almost certainly be pulled from the american air waves.

There have been marketing blunders in the US. Happens all the time. Some company puts out an Ad and you have the ACLU, PETA, or some other group shouting about it being offensive.

You have people say stupid things too. Right off hand, I remember Bill Parcells referring to the Dallas Cowboys trick plays as "Jap Plays".

Yes, the AD was a result of ignorance but it was one company that put out that AD. You don't have neo Nazi rallies and marches or the KKK here in Korea like you do back in the US.

I'm not apologizing for whats happened, I just think it shouldn't be blown up into a big deal. If the Government or some other public institution put out that type of AD then I would be as offended as the next guy. However, it was a cosmetic company who didn't know better.

They just need to pull the Ad and issue a public apology.

Yes ,advertisers do stupid crap to get attention.

My favorite was the "Do you want a Prime Minister that looks like this?" ad with the picture of Jean Chretian (whose face is half paralyzed for those not in the know) that the tories put out a few elections back.

I have a vauge memory, as it was a horrible show-while profit and viewers are always the end goal, I believe social commentary was in that show.

Here, it's just profit motive with a hot looking chick-I'm a capitalist through and through, but this is in poor taste-but keep those blood lines pure, K tards!

Wouldn't make too much of this....Koreans (Asians) simply do not share the emotional reaction wetserners have to Nazi imagery.

It is, I suppose, the same with Japan. Where Koreans and Chinese might be upset upon seeing a flag of the Japanese Imperial Army, (which, if you watch J-league baseball closely, you can see being waved by some fans), westerners would not have the same reaction.

Asians are not 'tuned in' to and do not have the same feelings about Nazi imagery. It is not part of their 'cultural inheritance' if you will.

Yes, but imagine we started waving a bunch of old Japanese flags around, parading around like it's a good thing back home! A few people could, yes. A national commercial would never make it to the air though. It's not a cultural thing nor is it meant to glorify nazism, but it IS ignorant.

Indeed. If we started using Korean "comfort women" in a sexy ad, they would dump bricks.

Good lord. What does the Hangul say in the first ad? Something about Hitler?

Roughly "Even Hitler couldn't win east and west." The point of the commercial is that this Coreana product outperforms Hitler by offering two things at one: soothing and cleansing.

This is too strong not to be blown up. Yes, it's ignorance, but if some of you got your way, how would they ever learn where they went wrong. It should be pulled with a public apology. Seriously, they mentioned Hitler as Mindmetoo said. This one goes beyond normal ignorance.

Look how uptight Koreans get when you say Takeshima, which isn't even a big deal (in terms of millions of people dying). The comfort women thing is a good example too.

In defense of Star Trek, it was a show where the nazis were shown as the bad guys. It's a totally different thing than promoting a product based on a nazi theme.

I don't know how anyone could think the Star Trek episode was supporting Nazism in any way. It was about as pro-Nazi as this symbol:

Which a lot of retards mistake as the regular Nazi swastika pretty often.
