| I believe it also says that the police think the video was staged and that "netcitizens" are shocked. Good job boys! Plan on seeing a lot more on this topic in the future. There is a very large population of young gays in Korea and unlike past generations many of them are not going to be marrying to keep mom happy. The next ten years will be an interesting time in South Korea regarding the issue of homosexuality. |
irrelevant. Inappropriate behaviour in public should not be lauded, regardless of gender/orientation of individuals involved.
moreover, gays conducting PDAs in public is not going to change the average Korean's feeling on the issue of homosexuality and you're a bit more than naive if you think it will--exposure doesn't automatically equal acceptance (nor should it, really, but that's another discussion topic) |
Absolutely, One thing that irritates me about some gays is that they seem to believe the same rules don't apply to them and that it's ok for example to grope/ continually sexually proposition someone in a bar. Its happened more than enough times to piss me off. Imagine the trouble I'd get in if I grabbed some girl by the snatch and and asked her if she wanted to go to the bathroom and suck the plums off me!
I dont mean to generalize, just making a point^ |
I feel your pain. But your generalization of gay men as sexual predators is just that. Funny, I have never had that happen to me and never seen anything valid to support it as being a problem most hetro men encounter. In fact, I have never had a hetro man tell me he has ever been groped in a bar by another man...let alone multiple times. On the other hand, I have seen some pretty horrible stats on the number of women that are sexually assaulted before even reaching adulthood...by hetro men...go figure. |

welcome to the most boring thread in dave's history.
1. gay dudes kissing - boring. who cares what people do in their spare time? if you saw a heterosexual couple sucking face would it register? no.
2. koreans accepting odd behavior - who wants to bet that this rocked the boat about as much as 23 year old university grad from melbourne or ottawa holding hands with korean girlfriend? |

There's another picture where the guys face is in the other guys crotch. Unaccaptable in public. Who cares what they do in private, but this is the bloody subway. |

I think this country is about to implode. What next, middle aged drunk men whipping their peckers out in the midday sun for a piss at the bus stop?
I'll snap a photo of that and send it in next time i see it.
That'll shock those netizens. |

Well...you can always go back to posting about your exciting trip to Japan. I am sure you are the only one on this forum to have done that. Or, I am sure you can find more to contribute on the topic of "who were the first to use chili peppers in cooking." |

Boring post |
Possibly you could continue with your contributions to the fascinating topic of ""plastic film covering stainless steel." Don't want to have you wasting your time on this boring topic. |

fool, had you read that thread, i have actually moved to apan and the purpose of posting about it was to give a comparative look at expat life from my perspective. very useful in my opinion, and the 8 pages of posts with criticisms, questions and observations shows that other people agree. so blow me.
i just don't find homosexuality all that shocking. am i wrong? i'm bored by the korean press making it an issue. yeah yeah i know it's a conservative country but god... does it need to be in the paper? does it need to be commented on? maybe. i just get frustrated with what other people lose their shit over when i've had a few beers. |

Have you ever considered giving up drinking? At the very least it might improve your writing. |

Argument? Where? Possibly you are confusing the word argument with comment? Or, possibly your hangover has you in a bit of a haze? I am not arguing with you. I am simply suggesting you might better spend your time contributing your self-proclaimed useful insight on topics ranging from living in Japan to What part did you play in band class? elsewhere. |

hate to be a pedantic fruit, but i'm in good company it seems.
last time i checked "Have you ever considered giving up drinking? At the very least it might improve your writing." was an argument in favor of not posting drunk, and "Well...you can always go back to posting about your exciting trip to Japan. I am sure you are the only one on this forum to have done that. Or, I am sure you can find more to contribute on the topic of "who were the first to use chili peppers in cooking." was an argument for me not contributing to threads in a way that crams fistfuls of sand into your vagina.
i posted here for years. i continue to use this board as a resource for things korea, because i still love the place. something comes up, i comment. don't like it? don't read it. |
