Of course, spelling in the English language is not so phonetic when compared to other European languages, and since people do not read as much as they used to, spelling is a major problem among many people.
I see people using definately all the time. I don't say anything about it, because it's such a common error, and you don't want to come across as some spelling snob. Then, of course, you have people using to instead of too when they want to signify something similar to the word also.

Oh, and it's: "bear with me" and "bear in mind" unless you want to get undressed together or are thinking of nude people.
