Keetrainchild,
RAM is pretty cheap at the moment. You could give your system a major boost by upgrading the RAM now. 2GB's of decent DDR2 @800mhz can be had for 60-80,000 at Yongsan, or maybe cheaper online. You can continue using that RAM when you upgrade.
That's if your MOBO supports 800mhz........
Your CPU and GPU should be doing better at Crysis on medium settings. I suspect the RAM is holding your system back. |

I have just about the fastest CPU and RAM that my motherboard can handle. My MB won't support DDR2, and my CPU is socket 939. With this motherboard, I can't do any better than Socket 939 and DDR400.
I want to upgrade, but in order to upgrade any of the core components (CPU, motherboard, RAM), I need to upgrade all of them. A new CPU requires a new motherboard, which requires new RAM. God willing, within the next year or so I'll just build a new computer.
I could upgrade my video card, and I can afford to do so, but my other components are such a bottleneck that I think I won't bother until I can upgrade everything. |

It's a great game. I just played through it myself on a:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8200 @ 2.66GHz with a
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (512MB DDR3) and a
SAMSUNG HD161HJ 160GB (SATA300, NCQ, 8MB Cache)
Ran perfectly on high settings at 1280x1024 and X4AA. I don't have Vista so I can't run "very high" (anyone know a way around this?)
The gameplay is alright, but the graphics totally carry it. I think without the graphics it wouldn't have carried itself very far. It's a lot of fun to go off road and play around, though. |

A perfect review.
I'm cheating this time round in Crysis. All Weapons and Unlimited Ammo. Boy is it fun to walk into a North Korean base just peeling off endless RPG's until nothing is left alive or standing...... |

damn....i've got the itch again....
After carefully reviewing video cards for my best friend, I've decided to buy one myself. So, goodbye 7900GTX and hello 8800GT (512ram). The question is, which brand should I buy? I really wanted to get my hands on the BFG or EVGA OC, but, they don't have them here in KOrea. However, they do have ASUS. Thoughts on a brand here in Korea?
Me.
P.S. Anyone want to buy the 7900GTX off of me? I'll give you a good price.
P.P.S. I'll be buying the 8800GT June 6th, so, you can haev the 7900GTX jjust after that. |

I agree that you should wait til the new cards come out in about 3 weeks, prices will come down then...
Here's a pic with some Crysis settings that'll give you an idea about the 8800GT. I got it from [H]OCP.

| Nvidia just moved its NDA. June 2nd is official review release date for new Nvidia cards and 17th is the Official retail release. I believe ATI is launching on the 24th or the 18th. |

You'll be sorry if you buy an 8800GT. It's slipping fast down the GPU charts. By the Fall it will be yesterdays card. |

Yes, but for the money, it's what i can afford. What would you recommend, then, around the 200 marker? Why would you even buy a 9 series when it has virtually the same architecture as the 8 series. Furthermore, if you weigh the performance difference between the 8 series and 9 series and compare the price for each, well, it just isn't worth it imo. |
