| Wow R-Seoul. You are the coolest mother f*cker on the the block! I came on here to ask a genuine question and I personally don't think there is anything wrong with my inquire. For the most part, everyone has been really cool and informative. I'm not going to even defend my comments that you so intelligently picked apart with your witty British banter. I laugh at pricks like you on Dave's. Nothing better to do but flame others to overcompensate for your inadequacies and lack of a social life (hence the negativity you so outwardly exclaim on this forum). You sir are a first class individual. Bravo. You're online status on Dave's has been kicked up one notch. |

I for one am very pleased that the OP posted this question. I'm off to Thailand in July for a month, alone, female, and was wondering about this too.
Are there any women out there who have traveled around Thailand alone? any advice? (sorry OP, i hope i'm not hijacking your thread) |

The biggest drawback about being a lone foreign woman in Thailand. Is being ignored by the foreign men who are with their rental girlfriends. |

Nah, there's boys everywhere to be had and you can always try the local flavor. You'll probably meet lots of hot Israelis as well. Usually the ones with rental girlfriends are old fat greasy losers who smell like armpit. |

The local thai men like going barenack with their bargirl girlfriends. This will carry obvious risks. The Kho San road hippies are likely infested with
bed lice from staying in one too many flop-houses. Some of the riff raff
farangs are most likely to steal your passport while you're sleeping and pawn it off for more dope. |

Barboys are dangerous don't go with them.
You will only be ignored by the foreigners if you are a minger or ginger.
Anywa foreigners are dangerous as well so keep away from them as well. |

Farang woman should also be aware that the long term Farang men expats tend to go for the pre-opporative ladyboys with the full tackle in tact.
Then again a horny white girl might want to check out Grace's coffee shop.
There's plenty of rich Arab Sheiks there. |

| Thailand's fine if you're solo. I'm spending six weeks there this summer, mostly in Bangkok but with some travel plans to other parts of the country. It'll be my fifth time. So far so good. You might want to book your hotels online in advance; don't show up and look around for whatever you can find, and definitely don't solicit recommendations from taxi/tuk-tuk drivers. Have your hotel organize a pickup at the airport, too. That way, you can avoid the taxi queue and the BS of dealing with taxi drivers who will try to rip you off by not using the meter. This is especially helpful if you're arriving late at night. FWIW, Chiang Mai is also well worth a look. And use condoms. |

| Thailand's a great place to travel by yourself. I've done it with a friend and done it alone and both were very enjoyable. You can spend the day sight-seeing or shopping or just wondering around at your own pace and then enjoy talking / watching sports at the pub all evening. It does attract a few yobs but I found most of the other tourists very affable, if a bit of an older crowd. |

Actually I never book online. I always arrive and find something. I rarly pay more than 800 baht a night. I usually pay around 400-500 baht a night. This is for a nice air conditioned room with a double bed. Which comes in handy even when you're travelling alone.
I agree with the above poster that going with a tuk-tuks recommendation is a bad idea. Obviously because they get a nice cut of the profit. Tuk -Tuks also get nice commisions from Turkish Baths( massage parlours) rip off Gem shops, custom tailors. Go to where you want to go and find what you want. It's not brain surgery. You don't need to understand any Thai to do it.
If anyone tries to tell you a certain temple is closed they're lieing. This is just a common scam to get you to make alternative plans and pay another commision. |

errrrrrrrrrrr. If people pay for sex, why not pay a lot? Don't you get what you pay for? Is there no quality? If you're the kind of guy who racks up $100 liquer bills why should you get a $15 hooker? Class guys, its all about class. Is this the kind of woman you give a tip to afterwards? Or just punch out of bed after the 5 minutes it takes you? Just curious.
-I really have NO desire to go to Thailand. I don't like Elephants very much. |

I have a Korean friend who told me he couldn't go home that evening because his wife had discovered a bill for over 2000$. This was for him and a group of friends at a room salon. This usually involves a bottle of whiskey and a plate of fruit. He claimed the bill included taking the ladies out of the bar.
I keep telling him 2000$ would go much further in Thailand. |

Actually it wouldn't, guess what the Korean (and Japanese) community do for Entertainment in Bangkok? Yes that's right, they go to Korean room salons with their buddies to drink overpriced whiskey and eat fruit platters. They are entertained by white skinned chinese thais, who are probably no cheaper than your average K-room salon beauty. One thing that all East Asians love is wasting their money on overpriced booze & women. And the Thais are only too happy to help...one thing the thai bargirls joke about wt Koreans & Japanese is the big 3 (3 inch dick used for 3 mins of sex and paying 3,000 baht). |

Do you recommend traveling alone to Thailand? I'm not a moron when it comes to drinking and partying. I'm not looking for a drug fueled week either (unless I know what I'm getting into). I'm just looking for a good time and the chance to meet up with fellow travelers. Basically, what do you think? Have you ever done Thailand alone? Pros? Cons? What to look out for?

I flew to and lived in Thailand alone in my teens and had nary a problem.
Let me give you one little story that is illustrative of how helpful most people were, most of my time there:
The morning after I landed, I was dropped off at some random bus station in Bangkok without knowing a word of Thai, without a phrasebook and with no idea how to even take busses, haha. I said "Chiang Mai" to a girl at a desk and she actually ran out to the road and stopped a bus that was taking off and held it for me. Later I got to the huge bus departure station that takes people out of Bangkok. I had no idea what to do. I said "Chiang Mai" to some guy selling chicken and he took me across the enormous station and found the woman selling the tickets. Nice. On the way up I had no food other than the complimentary juicebox and coffee cake that they give you. The monk sitting next to me fed me donuts and made sure I was full.
Both Thai people, and tourists, are generally friendly and open to meeting new people. You won't have a problem with that if you respectful as well. |

I walked by one of those places. It had hangul on it and in English buisness club. It was at th end of soi 6. I was so glad I didn't have to go there. I can imagine it's a big rip off.
From what I've heard from most Thai bargirls Korean men are considered pretty dreadful customers. There up there with Indians and Arabs on the bad trick list.
