What was his name... Mr. Money and Ethnics. Indeed there are a lot of quebec politicians in recent history with bizarre ideas. I remember once when the PQ was asked if they realized if they separate this would cause the further exodus of the few corporate HQs left in Montreal, the PQ responded "Oh, we'd simply pass a lot requiring any company that does business in Quebec to maintain a corporate HQ in Quebec."

And we'll pass a law that makes women men. Geez.

Bill Vander Zalm and Rita Johnson have to top the list from the west coast. Mike Harcourt and Glen Clark wouldn't be far behind. The gardener, the trailer park manager, the lawyer, and the floor sweeper shop steward who all made it to the premier's office.

Audrey Mclaughlin would provide some very serious contention from the North.

Jacques Parizeau with his 'straight from the bottom of his bottle' speech could represent Quebec.

I should stop. I'm really dating myself here.

That's a fine one. I would also have to say most of the Ontario NDP from the early 1990s.

Whatever happened to the Rhinocerous party? I'm all for lacing the public water supply with steroids.

That said, is it the natural law party whose entire platform essentially focuses on yogic flying? Whoever came up with that has my vote for stupidest politician.

The Rhinos were brilliant. There was also Mel Hurtig's "we're like the NDP but more scary" party. And then there was the catholic Family Coalition Party. They were nut bags.

Man, you guys have too many parties! You need a good STABLE system with only TWO parties and then put half of everybody in one and half in the other. Then to REALLY make sure nothing productive (ethical, legal, responsible) ever gets done put a real dumbass in the executive position. Then you can be a strong and great country!

(I love my country but I can admit we have been taking the cake on the boneheaded politician argument for some time now.)

Stephane Dion spews out quite a but of nonsense, provided you can understand what he's saying./

I have to say that I never really developed a true appreciation of how stupid Jean Chretien was until I learned French.
