So, enough about part 2 of my post. How about part 1? Pakistan nakedly warning Europe that muslim violence is the consequence of European freedoms. Even islamophobes such as myself don't state things as clearly as the Pakistani government. They smell weakness, and they're right.

You're misrepresenting it. You are making sound like the government is threatening retaliation. The government is warning that similar reactions from some groups are possible, if such criticism of Islam continues.

Maybe someone else already mentioned this, but the BBC just put out a documentary about the history of Islam in Europe. It showed that everything was perfect when Muslims were in charge and mentioned that Christopher Columbus was, perhaps, a Muslim.

HA! Like the EU is going to listen to Pakistan! That's rich...

Pakistan's not doing this because their government thinks the cartoons are offensive- they're doing this because they can't control their people.
They don't want to get overthrown because some kooks in Wazeristan can whip up the local morons into a frenzy over some schmuck thinking he's Gary Larson.

The EU member nations will probably play some lip service to Pakistan, arrest some net-dorks, and move on. Sure, some other guys somewhere will post a cartoon, and the zealots will burn down an embassy. Maybe next time they'll just pull all their embassies out rather than avoid a target.
