| my copy of JSA is all regions, but none of my other Korean movies are. As WM said, True Romance is all regions, but it says region 3 on the box. At least my copy did. |

Ok, I bought this computer in US with DVD RW drive and it won't write onto my newly bought DVD-R disks (Korean). Is this because of the region encoding on the computer (region 1) and on the DVD (region 3)?
If so, how in the blazes do you change the region encoding on the computer?
This probably was asked before, but I honestly tried googling Dave's (typing "site:www.eslcafe.com/forums region change") which is better than using the search engine on this crappola site, btw. So, shoot me if I'm asking the same thing over again. (And I tried running the DVD like 5 times and ... walking around my house 7 times chanting "DVD amitabul amitabul...") |

Ok, I tried opening the DVD from "My Computer" and I get a (blank) "folder" for the DVD but the Sony recover program won't recoginze the DVD from the program though.
Don't bother answering my above post. Buying this computer from the US so that I will have an English Windows and blah blah blah was the stupidest idea I've ever had. |

| For those who are technically minded, you can use an RPC-1/2 firmware hack for your DVD drive that unlocks the region restrictions. You will also need to install a software region hack, to get your media player to recognise the DVD.. |

Are DVD players in Korea region 1 or region 2?
I have a Korean notebook. Do you know if it's possible to use region 1 DVDs on it? |
If you are watching DVDs on your laptop, forget about worrying about regions and just use VideoLan player which is a region free player. It will play whatever you throw at it. You can find it HERE. |
