| I joined the international job forum long before here and, when I joined, the General discussion forum didn't contain the requirement 'Non-teaching/job-related postings will be deleted'. It was a completely anything-goes forum. It was so funny prior to that, because there were so many disgusting TEFL chumps. The worst chump was Moonraven. She was a gynormous white woman in her 40s at least who constantly jumped all over newbies for really minor things (especially young women) and basically was the most bitter, most angry, most tortured of souls. That forum served up chillingly vivid evidence of how if you take a completely normal person, put them in a TEFL job, or several TEFL jobs, for years and years, their brains and personalities become naught but worthless and contemptible slush. Since they (mods/Dave) introduced the 'Non-teaching/job-related postings will be deleted' requirement, the forum went drastically down or uphill depending on your point of view. |
How do you know she was a completely normal person to begin with? Do you have proof that her alleged derangement was the direct result of becoming a TEFL slave? |
Why is it any concern of yours? |
Um...because you used it as an example to make a claim about TEFL teachers. Obviously if you hold up an example & say "this is what TEFL turns people into", then it's natural to enquire whether that is, in fact, what did it or not. That's kinda how the whole making a point, debating thing works yes?
Or should it just be that you make one statement & everybody should simply agree with you without actually examining or referring to the proof you put forward? |

Oh dear, someone employed as an English teacher can only read in the literal sense with no appreciation for nuance. Obviously, the claim "if you take a completely normal person, put them in a TEFL job, or several TEFL jobs, for years and years, their brains and personalities become naught but worthless and contemptible slush" is meant in a facetious rather than literal sense referring to a factual state of affairs. |

Look up the definition of nuance, little subtlety in your post, more like over-the-top hysteria. Trying to convince yourself you shouldn't run back to Korea, tail between your legs to resume life as a deranged TEFLer?
Finding it difficult back there in the real world are we? |
