I meant that in the way of "Speaking badly of war-hero McCain makes you a bad person." |

Trivia Question (that I don't know the answer to)
Who finished last in his class, the year that McCain finished second last? How did that guy end up doing? |

Ahhh...
I was wrong when I said "second to last." He actually finished 894 of 899.
I'm curious about your question. I'm willing to bet that they washed out. |

I don't think this critique works.
John McCain's heroism trumps Bush Sr.'s because whereas both men were flying aircraft in wartime that were shot down, McCain then elected to spend six years in a P.O.W. camp being tortured.
He's not my first choice to be President, but I do not think attacking his military record is the way to go. He's said enough in his political life for which to spend a whole election attacking him. |

I don't think anyone is really attacking his military career. They're letting it speak for itself.
However, I think that if George Bush, with his "stellar" military career during Vietnam, were not what we were using to compare McCain, everyone would be attacking him. |

Interesting about the planes.
I also didn't realize he'd been married to a model before as stated in the article.
Made me curious about his second, current wife...I had no idea there was a 17-year-difference in their ages. His second wife was 26 when he married her and he was 43. |

Now that I'm thinking more about it, what qualifies McCain to be president at all?
He seems to be the type of guy who treats everything with a "half-assed" motivation. |

Yes, that's a salient point. The guy doesn't seem to care about domestic issues outside of Immigration. He's very much a Senator, specialized on a few key issues and very focused on those. That makes for a great Senator, willing to compromise on issues outside his field of interest, but perhaps not the best President. |

Bush and McCain are two sons of privilege who got where they are thanks to their grand-daddy's and daddy's.

| McCain has crashed more American airplanes than al Qaeda. If he gets elected, I hope there's an air marshal on Air Force One to keep an eye on McCain so he won't try to run up the score. |

Far as I can tell numbers #3 #4 and #5 do not appear to be his fault in any way.
#3 his engine flamed out.
#4 a rocket fired by someone else took out his plane.
#5 he was shot down in war.
He does appear to have always been in the wrong place at the wrong time though...some people just have a knack for that. |
