I concur. You could make a resort on that land. Your son will be a multimillionaire. Well Done.

THAT might make sense.

and at that ridiculous price, all the sense in the world. That price seems way too low.

the question as always in such locations becomes..

what are you going to do to KEEP living there? as in what kind of work/job will you have on location?

the answers 99% of the time are most unappetizing.

You are right bogey - 10 grand (US) For a house in Bs As is far too low.

There is a price boom in Argentine property at the moment with no regulations against foreigners buying in Argentina means prices are on the up as Argentine expats living in Spain and the US as well as other Europeans who want to buy a holiday home other than the med are now zeroing on Argentina with its decent weather, European culture and low crime.

www.argenprop.com.ar/index.asp

You would still get a nice 2 bedroom flat in a decent part of Bs As for around 75-100000 pounds.

A property expert friend of mine says the bubble will burst in around 5 years from now and prices will revert back to what they were, if you want to buy in Argentina hold up awhile he reckons.

I'd be willing to buy that Philippine land at $10 an acre, no matter what kind of land it is and who live sin the area. If the muslims come by to make trouble, they'd better have helmets and bullet proof vests.

Land is land. Take what you can get.

I can think of a few that would appeal to me...

Davao, Philippines
Cebu, Philippines
Panama City, Panama
Macau
Okinawa, Japan

The latter two I haven't looked into much, but Japan is so damn relaxing and comfortable. Macau, I'd like to take a look, but I've never been there to get an accurate feel.

Then again, a condo in Honolulu or Vegas or somewhere like that, might be pretty nice too!

Being retired on some property abroad might be good from around 55-70...but I think you get around 70-75, and it might be just nice to be 'not in a foreign country'!

I wish I were American. There are so many beautiful, BIG houses (many with swimming pools) some on river edges, for under 300K. Not NYC area of course but almost anywhere else. I have thought about immigrating to the US simply because of the prices to decently house a family.
Yearly property tax is a little high but.

Big houses are vastly overrated.

Unless you throw a lot of parties or like to have family and friends crash there it's more trouble than it's worth.

The river's edge idea is awesome if you dig watersports or have a boat....especially if you set up a dock.
