| I read an article about Abu Ghraib, which mentioned some prisoners were handed over by the US troops to be hanged. Can't remember all the details... ah yes it's coming back a little bit... It was about how some of the guards and interrogators involved in A.G and Guantanomo were suffering psychologically and that 'aggressive interrogation' techniques aren't such a good thing because of the negative effects on the soldiers who have to carry it out. |
Oh well, u don't get "hanged" for being a good guy, do u? |
Tell that to Sacco and his buddy, Vanzetti. You can get hanged if someone thinks you should be eliminated. Saddam Hussein was hanged. That's because he was defeated. It is about power politics, not so much about justice. Plenty of horrible and plenty of good people get executed. It depends on who is doing the executing. |

Anyway, I'm glad they got him. He led his soldiers to kill innocent kids and women. I remember seeing video footage of the Serbs killing an innocent woman doing her shopping. It made me sick.
Unfortunately he had all those years of relative freedom.
But, what of all those war-loving soldiers on all sides of the war? Croats and Bosnians. Still living and eating.
I say give them 50 years and then talk about EU membership. |

You know, how many soldiers in World War II who committed crimes helped put the foundation for the European Union. Granted, the Balkans (I hope this will change) has too many people who have this old mentality where they have these ancient grudges. That needs to change. They have the mentality Western Europe has somewhat left behind. I am glad Karadzic was arrested. He doesn't deserve any sympathy. He did lead soldiers who ran rape factories and killed thousands of people, and the Croats who killed Serbian civilians in Krajina should be prosecuted. |
