footprints is a recruiter. likely they want to scare the living shit out of anyone attempting to smoke weed in korea. good idea, it protects them from a lot of flak if people don't call BS on their warning... but you would think that people with as much experience as footprints would be able to come up with a more believable story.

Really? So he was working for an international school illegally? Did his school run into any trouble for hiring him, then?

PURE F***ING B.S.!

The OP is full of s***!

-No link to any real news story!
-No real, confirmable information!
-NO, the police are not doing random hair sampling in bars.
The hair sample test is very expensive and they only perform if they
have taken you into custody under strong suspicion- somebody ratted
you out-, but your urine sample is "inconclusive". This happened to
someone I know very well.

This story is fiction!
20 years for smoking weed? Yeah, right.

This post from the same guy who posted about some religious revival in Florida where a girl's broken arm was completely healed through prayer alone!

Don't believe anything he posts as "fact"!

Hmmm, clear symptoms of paranoia. haha. A little worried are ya?

A guy I worked with is on E.B.S.: Narcs came into a very well-known club in Hongdae where he worked weekends in 2001-2002 as a bartender and did random hair samples on expats and the locals. After a few weeks, the owner started paying weekly "gifts" that the Canadian saw delivered in bulging white envelopes to a K-Guy. End of problem.

Good way for a cop to make a few bucks on the side, eh? Get a few buddies to show up in bars where foreigners spend a lot of money, pluck a few hairs, say "yup, we're testing for drugs, uh-huh, no really we really are," and then come back a week later and say "we're sending your meal tickets to jail unless you pony up a couple hundred a week."

No need to actually do the tests.

Footprints has a spotty rep. Take what they claim with a spot of salt and a shot of soju (tequila if ya have some, of course).

I've seen the exchange of envelopes, too, but it had nothing to do with drugs. Back in '97-ish it was simply a matter of cops closing down all the "after hours" clubs (ALL clubs had to be closed by 1am). The cops would be making the rounds and the DJs would stop the music, and tell everyone to keep the noise down until they go away. If they didn't go away, and came into the club threatening to shut them down for being open illegally, a little white envelope got them out pretty quickly.
