We are going global, right? That is your primary reason for being where you are, you ESLers. Or you could say, like it or not, "Once An ESL, Always An ESLer."
You don't have to be physically present to love the people on this board, or any board for that matter. I have friends online from ten years ago that I can pop in and chat with anytime I like. Some do move on and lose touch, but that's expected of friendships too.
And you're not getting rid of me that easy. |

| If people have left Korea and still post lots and lots in the Korea-related boards (Jobs and General Discusssion) then, yes, I'd agree that's odd, possibly inappropriate and probably suggests something amiss with the person, but the same cannot be said of posting in the Offtopic and Current Events boards for rather obvious reasons. |

| Since the massive majority of posts on the General Topic forum are of the "Mommy, mommy, Freddy's looking at me again" variety, I see no reason why someone who has left shouldn't respond if so motivated. There is nothing unique in that timeless whine that requires any current knowledge. |

| Why do people frequently misspell the word "weird"? I don't get it. |

i'd say it's the "i before e, except after c; or when sounding like "a" as in neighbor and weigh" rule.
a pretty common and innocent mistake, unlike messing up apostrophe rules or spelling ridiculous "rediculous". |

Here's my weird story. Last week, my friend and I went to Oedal-do (island off the coast of Mokpo) and this guy we sort of know was there too and bought us some beers. So we thought we'd invite him out to dinner. Then all of a sudden he turned into this weird/creepy guy. A group of us went out for sam gyup sal (spelling?) and we were going to order some more meat when the creepy guy started to talk to the waitress in Latin and started to bless her by making cross motions with his hands. We were all sitting there with confused looks on her faces. Then we went to a Chicken Hof and he started to freak out because we were pouring the beer a way he didn't like. My friends and I decided to go "home" to get rid of him.
If you see a guy speaking Latin and making crosses with his hands, run away. |

It's often because they're wired.

Don't you love it when people obviously didn't read anything except the title? |

SeoulShakin????? Is that really you???? It's me!!!! You remember.... oh hang on... *the evil penguin strips down to his somewhat tight slighty tatty and extremely stained and smelly Bob the Builder boxer shorts to reveal the crudely tattooed words "SeoulShakin was 'ere" painfully etched into his upper thigh with a sharpened fragment of squirrel bone and ....well.... whatever the hell was used as ink....*
Ahhhhh SS, the good times, the memories, the stalking.....
*the evil penguin quickly re-dresses before anybody glimpses the "I'll always love you Penguin, from Kermit" tattoo partially hidden by the fraying waistband of his decaying underwear*
Good seeing you SS...... You'll always be the one for me...... honestly.... |

Haha don't let Kermo hear you saying that
The not so evil penguin...another reason I miss Korea haha. I think I'm having some serious reverse culture shock right now. I never went through culture shock at all while going to Korea. Uggh. |
