sports with judging always seem so contrived to me, like the inventor of the sport had a good idea, but realized it was stupid, and decided: hey, let's just pick a winner! why the hell does ski jumping have style points? if i jump the furthest, who cares how i looked in the air? imagine if the winner of a hockey game wasn't the team with the most goals, but the team with the best style! maybe the leafs would finally win one.

I'm still trying to understand how Canada justify Curling in the winter games. It should at least be given it's REAL name- Ice Shuffleboard.

Yeah... you're right. It was ONLY Canada that wanted Curling as an Olympic sport. The IOC goes on the recommendation of 1 nation. I'm sure Scotland had nothing to do with it... cause SCOTLAND didn't invent the game and it didn't originate in SCOTLAND!

I assume you've been curling... cause EVERYONE who has an opinion has been curling. It is a gentleman's game where sportsmanship (supposedly) means more to the athletes than anything. There are plenty of stupid things in the Olympics which shouldn't be, but, don't blame something you don't like on one country.

While it ain't my favorite, it's definitely more worthy of an Olympic spot than Synchro swimming, Archery, Shooting, and Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Synchro swimming and Rhythmic Gymnastics require considerable athleticism as well as incredible talent.

Archery and Shooting merely require the latter.
