I thought it was funny. As a previous poster said, he lacked social skills.
News teller: What did your mom think?
Kid: I don't know...you'll have to ask her if you want the answer to that question.
Social 'skills' in this instance mean the ability to provide comforting answers. So, he should have said:
Kid: She was delighted, so happy for me... |
