Improvised music (electronic, acoustic, and electro-acoustic) and modern composition (very little of it, but some very much).

Traditional folk musics (esp. American, Jamaican, African, Indian, and Korean).

Houston hip-hop (esp. DJ Screw, UGK, and K Rhino).

I don't buy genres. If you're music works I'll listen to it. If i it sucks it sucks.

I hate country music, but some Patsy Kline, Hank Williams sr. and Johny Cash is great.

Anyway, if there were enough interest, it would be a fun thing to get going. Any ideas or advice? Sadly, it looks like the interests in music are soooo diverse...

I'd personally say it is a good thing that the interests in music are diverse. Perhaps not good if you are trying to please everyone with your show, but that will always be an impossible task.

Which genre were you hoping would get the most votes?

My advice: Focus on that genre. It's your show. Where would your vote go?

I tend to like hard rock, and used to really like metal (now getting the most votes) but would probably go for a Linkin Park, Creed, etc., sound. Maybe throw in some older Limp Bizkit stuff. Not sure yet. Leaning towards hard rock with a mix of some of the hot new pop stuff. Wouldn't mind throwing in some snoop dogg at the right time.

I think I might try to time it, so I have certain shows appealing to certain people at certain hours.

I voted "other" for classical. Not much better than running to Brahms or Rachmaninov.
If it has to have words, then I'm all acoustic, all the time.
