So then, if you never had any intention of adequately training the dog, it is hardly the fault of the dog is it?

You come onto a forum saying that a Min Pin is a terirble dog and then admit that it was an abandoned dog and that could be where its bad habits come from.

HMMMM a dog abandoned on the street has a sense of NEED to be near people. Theres a wired case there eh?

Why are you bitching abot how bad a min pin is when by your on admission you were an indifferent in intolerant foster parent.

Shut up so this lady can try and find Ya a good home.

Why don't you shut up?

Wouldn't you agree that this breed of dog is absolutely NOT for a teacher (which 90% of the people on this board are) who is gone 6+ hours a day? I hope to save any unsuspecting person from taking-in a pin and ending up in over their heads. Then, they'll try to dump it off on here, and be called all sorts of negative things by people like you for wanting to get rid of it after it has made their lives a living nightmare -- people like you who have no f-ing clue about what the situation was like for the person who had the dog.

You go on about how this dog just needs proper training -- what teacher has the proper time to train this dog when they must leave it alone for 6+ hours a day while they are teaching? Some of you post around here like you're some kind of god's gift to animals dog experts, when in fact, you don't even know what you're saying.

Mini-pins are a shit-load of work, and require someone to be with them a lot more than a teacher in Korea has time to be. It's not the type of dog you leave home locked-up in an apartment alone. They need a fenced-in yard. How many teachers on here have a fenced-in yard?

If you have a family, and someone is around to help take care of it, then great -- maybe you'll love this type of dog.

You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to squelch the important information I'm passing on. And you consider yourself a dog lover? I don't think so. Some of you people sound more like selfish masochists than true dog lovers.

as a former long time breeder of Miniature Pinschers I agree with most of what anne says with regards to this breed. It must though be noted that this is in fact a Terrier not a Toy breed and is truly not a dog for the first time owner. They are extremely independent by nature and therefore come across as very stubborn. Majority of people who get this breed are not prepared for this and end up giving the dog to rescues feeling they are worn out. A Miniature Pinscher can sometimes take years to house train.
This breed is rated the 3rd worst breed for apartments as they do tend to bark and they are naturally guard oriented. They are also high energy and need a secured fenced yard to wear off the energy. A walk on a leash does not suffice with this breed. As they are sight oriented hunters and their prey drive is very strong, they should never be off leash and harness in public as they are prone to bolting at any quick moving thing they see. Once they bolt they do not train well to recall meaning calling their name and expecting them to come is somewhat redundant as its total focus is on the hunt. This breed is best left to people who have had a fair amount of prior experience with dogs as it requires a firm hand in controlling and teaching.

Why dont I shut up, oh thats rich. Im not the one telling people that ALL Min Pins suck.

I've never known that a BREED was bad for a teacher. I didnt realise the BREED defined the individual dogs actions. Thanks for telling us how ALL Min PIns must work there buddy.

And no, I dont give people crap who are trying to give a rescued dog a good home. I just watch pathetic morons like you do it constantly.

And because you had ONE MIn PIn that you didnt care about you are the expert on what YA will do in a house, or what any other Min PIn will be like. WOW, if that isn't omniscience and arrogance, I don't know what is.

Oh and about your rant about a teacher not being home.

1) the author covered that in the initial Topic
2) many people like me have wives who do not work, or who have varying schedules and could easilly accomodate a dog.
3) many teachers have varying shifts and could be gone for 3 hours back for 2 or 3 and gone again for 3 more.
4) many of the teachers on here are "under the table" workers who do privates at home.
5) There is the other 10 percent who arent teachers.

Any dog is a lot of work in most cases. However, My bst freind has had a min pin for 6 years. He trained it to poop in a litter box in three days, and he leaves it alone for 8 - 10 hours at a time. The dog's pretty normal. would you like his email address so you can enlighten him on how much of a pain in the butt the breed is?

Oh, and he doesnt have a fenced in yard, hes on the 4th floor of a condo.

Oh and because you are passing on information about YOUR experience about YOUR old mIn PIn you think you are passing on vital information. Yeah okay buddy, I will actually go MEET the dog, or talk to the person selling it. WIERD huh?

You think I am ashamed myself? I don't think so. I love my dog, i treat my dog well, and If i ever needed to give her away, which would never happen anyway, but if it did i'd find a loser like you trying to sabotage that pretty pathetic and offensive.

Get the chip off of your shoulder, MOst of the people on here pawning off dogs are either RESCUING them from the street from the KOREANS who throw them out, or have circumstances that force them to leave them rather than put them through the pain. Very few are actually people who have made an impulse buy or simply got the wrong breed.

And as I said, I dont find a guy like you who buy his own admission was happy to get rid of the dog and didnt want to take the time to train it properly a credible expert on the temperment of a Min Pin.

I think I will trust the buddy who's had one for six years.

Well, this has gotten a bit crazy. I have done my homework on this breed. I don't know what all of this fuss is about. Ya is simply adorable. He needs a good home. I have a good home for him, and I have offered to take him. My wife is always at home. She is on an F-3 and cannot work. We are anxious to meet Ya and bring him into our family. I also think this thread should be deleted. These trivial arguments are not what the OP had in mind when posting this. Hell, she was looking to find her dog a suitable home and this is what comes of it? Why? If you don't have something nice to say .....

Hence my pashing of a pathetic moron like Bass expander.

I was trying to get him to shut up so that a person like you would take Ya.

I am happy that you were able to take the dog. We need more people like you and less like Bass Expnder
