If there were any divine justice in the world, they'd move to New Orleans. It's Southern, right?

These morons aren't going anywhere. They're more like Herpes, they go into recession ocassionally but will always come back in the form of disturbing sores.

I just wish they would have won the civil war. We'd be rid of them for ever and they would have had to figure out the "negro problem" a la South Africa.

Actually I've got one better then that, Iraq. If it's so safe there and it's a democracy, then why not go live there.

Oh wait, humor is not allowed....

The U.S. South disproportionately supports the GOP. It is not because Obama is biracial. However, the same is true for much of the West.
The West was not on the side of the South during the Civil War, but, like the South, the West has a large amount of Evangelical types, and they do not have the diversity, historically, that one expects to find in the East Coast and parts of the West Coast, but that is changing rapily. The GOP may win Colardo this time, but that is changing as the demographics are changing over there. I welcome all Americans to stay and help rebuild the country, and I think America needs a new economic contract, so to speak. People deserve good, responsible government. That government should not be beholden to financial institutions. Remember, the South did produce Dwight D. Eisenhower, LBJ, and Ralph Yarborough etc......

Actually, given the way things are moving in Canadian politics, Ya-ta Boy, perhaps disgruntled American conservatives might go and live there after all...

Quote:
Stephen Harper's Conservatives have made significant gains across the country from the 2006 federal election but failed to gain enough seats to win a majority government, CBC News projects.

The Tories' fortunes were buoyed early in the evening by surprising gains in Atlantic Canada, especially in New Brunswick, despite the party being shut out in Newfoundland and Labrador. Meanwhile in Ontario, early returns suggested vote-splitting and a strong NDP showing were cutting into Liberal support in the party's traditional heartland...

I was going to suggest the same....Stephen Harper seems quite popular up there! Plus, unlike several years ago, when most Canadians were celebrating their liberalness, now most often I hear most disgruntled with paying higher taxes, and even a stronger libertarian streak (the latter which is being chased out and even laughed at by the Republican Party in the U.S.).

'Twas the Republican that won the Civil War.
