Chris Rock, Mitch Hedburg, Greg Girardo, and Pablo Francisco are all really funny. I've tried listening to Dane Cook, and I just don't care for him.

There are a lot of Dane Cook haters out there. I'm assuming it's cause he's popular. I have to admit, his movies are terrible, but his standup is great. It's more like story telling, but I laugh everytime I hear it and I've listened to the cds over and over. I went to one of his shows last year as well and he didn't disappoint.

That said, you can't please everyone, but I've been a fan of his since he was on Comedy Central with his live show. He's come a long way and his stuff is still hillarious.

One good reason why some of Dane Cook's stand-up is great is because there are a lot great comedians out there, and Cook has stolen from many of them, like Robin Williams before him.

I heard somewhere that there used to exist a 'Robin Williams Light". If you're up on stage doing your bit and you see the light come on, then it means Robin has just walked into the club and it's time to run off the stage as fast as you can.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Dane Cook light these days. He stole from Demetri Martin, a very innovative and funny young comedian, and that's just unconscionable.

Hm, well watched that video clip, and some others claiming he 'stole jokes'. While I admit, the ideas are similar, the delivery is completely different. Anyway, I don't feel like I need to defend Dane Cook.

He makes me laugh.

Period.

Seriously, Chris Rock??? Not even close, IMO. He IS funnier than Jerry Seinfeld though. Laughing

Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy used to rock the house but not so much anymore. Today, I like Robin Williams, Dave Chappelle, and Russell Peters even though he's not American. Peters is a Canadia-born Indian and he can be as funny as anyone.

David Cross, Patton Oswalt. Michael Showalter is good, but an acquired taste.

Seasons 3 and 4 of scrubs are great if that's your style.

I'm a big fan of Conan when he has high energy guests. Check out the times Jim Carrey or Robin Williams were on the show.

Here are a few ones from the UK. These are mainly from UK comedy shows but 90% of the guys on them are stand ups in there own right.
