If Obama had the potential to be 1/10 of what Malcolm eventually evolved into, he would be worth voting for.

But as Malcolm himself said

This is not about a black face in a high place.

five, I suggest you actually read a biography of Malcom X before implying that he was evil. His transformation as a person over the course of his life was quite remarkable. If anyone should hold a positive view of Malcom X, it should be a born-again Christian, since they have something in common: a spiritual awakening.

And yes, I'm being serious there.

Actually, I have. I actually enjoyed his biography and you are right it was remarkable.

Where did I say he was evil? I personally think he was quite tranformative, but in a negative way. However, that's my view.

Many people, like BACasper, would prefer his worldview over MLKs. Which I tried to capture in this essay.

As for the rest of you bitches...if you don't have anything intellgent to say "why say it?" You don't like my view...Ok fine. At least argue on a discerning level rather than trying to shout me down. God, it's like the mob in Rome.

Did somebody say mob?

The McCain Mob presents a clear and present danger. I pray to our Lord that these bigots, propelled by their ignorance, hatred, and obscene gullibility don't get their way.

Here is a sampling of people with what we could call the fiveeagle's mentality on display:

fiveeagles types on The Sidewalk to Nowhere, McCain Supporters in Bethlehem, PA

These people must be shut down!

As an American I sometimes have a hard time resisting the urge to tell people like fiveeagles to just shut the hell up and stay out of our politics. You don't see me posting junk about Canadian politicians do you? You know why that is? First of all, because I can't even vote in Canadian elections, and second, because frankly I just don't give a damn about Canadian politics. I wish you would extend the same courtesy to those of us who are from a country that is not your home. Or move to the States and become a citizen, then you'll actually have an opinion that matters.

Right...I am exactly like these people. Who's name calling? I haven't called Obama a Muslim or a terrorist. Rather I have said a lot of great things about him.

Anyway, the hatred is coming from both sides.

So instead of trying to tag me as something I am not. Why don't you try to try and defend Obama against my points??

I think the problem here is you are associating Barack Obama as a leader of African-American people. Particularly since you are using words like nationalism, I guess black nationalism, and on and on.

He isn't any more of a spokesman for all black people and only black than Colin Powell, Condoneeza Rice or many other people who happen to be black and have influential positions. MLK and Malcolm X were agents of social change in historical given into the context of their time, and their existance/purpose WAS race-related.

Barack Obama has never tried to jostle or fight or try to represent african-americans as their leader. His background is too diverse, his story is too complicated, his personal history is just too different.

Come on, are you joking. This will be huge IF Obama wins. It will be the first time a black president was ever in office. An amazing accomplishment and a very proud and defining day.

As a leader, he won't just be the black's leader, but all color people and all groups. He will be the leader of the free world. However, my question is will he hang on to his black pastor black theology?

I'm reading your posts, fiveeagles, and I seem to notice that you are caught up on the whole "black" thing.

You're racist, and that's sad. Spin it about killing "babies" *cough* all you want to. You're worried simply because of the color of his skin.

I am as much a racist as you are a genius.

Simple question flamingeagle: Are most of his followers black? Yes or no?

Is he then, a "black leader" any more than any previous president was a "white leader"?

Take some time and figure it out. Hope it doesn't hurt too much. By the way, wake up - it's 2008. Most of the US has figured it out, you should too.
