100% true. Hospitals still test for it because they don't know the law and people who go in for the tests allow them to check for whatever they want. YOU are paying for the medical check. Simply ask them to omit the test for cannabis. I'm sick of people saying, "100% not true. They still tested me for cannabis." That's because you let them!!! Immigration laws state that the cannabis test for ARC card was removed in March. When you go into the hospital tell the doctor or nurse specifically what you need for your ARC instead of relying on them to know immigration laws.

Starting from Mar. 15 2008, the Ministry of Justice decided to leave out the cannabinoid check on a medical record certificate and exceptionally accept the criminal record certificate verified by his/her consular officer(s) in Korea.

Hey, doc... wouldn't it sound a little weird to ask them to "please omit the test for marijuana?"

No. I did it with my co-teacher standing right next to me.

You're telling the person who is giving you the test (a nurse). Not an immigration officer. Even if you were, the test is no longer required, so why would it make a difference?

Just tell the hospital what you DO need, and not what you DON'T need if you're paranoid.

I would've passed anyways 'cuz it had been over 3 weeks since I smoked, but I saved close to 10,000 Won. Why should you have to pay for a test that is not required for your ARC?

You should tell that to the hospitals..I just pissed in a cup (and bled)..In typical Korean fashion, no one is on the same page here.... Don't chance it!
The piss test wasn't for cannabis.

THC metabolites stay in your system for approx. 30 days. If you are thin and have a fast metabolism, the metabolites will exit your system much qiucker. If you are overweight (slow metabolism)you have more fat. The THC metabolites are fat soluable, they will stick around in your fat cells much longer and slowly be released into your bloodstream, eventually ending up in your urine. Water soluable drugs: Blow, China White, Opiods exit your system 24-48 hrs. BUT, these time frames are for the UT. We should all be thankful that it's a UT, what a joke in comparison to a HT. If you are concerned about the UT, Never give a "just woke up after 8 hours of sleep" sample and drink alot of water or even better, cranberry juice, prior to submitting your sample.

I have also heard a few stories of exceptions to the above stasted rules. If you feel you may be cuting it close, it may just come down to the luck of the draw. I really hope they don't translate this one, I may have shot millions in the foot. But this info. is too important to not be shared
