I bought an HP dv2000 14 inch. Nice looking, light enough machine. Dual Core processor . 1gb RAM 120 gb hard drive. He listed 860,000 I got him down to 760 cash.

That seems like a good buy but you may want to consider getting an 1gb of RAM for an 20,000 won if you have vista installed. My last computer had only 1gb and it struggled a lot when I ran more than two programs at once.

Yes, I'm going to take your advice blade.... Also thinking of wiping out the Vista and using XP professional. For many reasons - but I also think Vista is just too loaded with junk and isn't as user friendly as it appears (plus all those privacy issues).

In my opinion, I don't think using Xp should be a problem on this machine...

Thx,

DD

How much will it cost to upgrade to 2g's? Probably has two 512's now. Gonna need two 1g sticks, right?

Ya, upgrading should cost about 40,000 won for 2x1g sticks.

If you buy an HP from an authorized HP dealer, you can ask them to install English instead of Korean Windows. They do it in under and hour. Just buy it and do some more shopping, then come back. I bet they'd let you downgrade to XP, but if not, Vista has been out long enough that I'd probably keep it. Just add 2 gigs of Ram minimum. They'll upgrade the Ram there, too.

There is an authorized HP dealer on the left side as you take the main left entrance into the Sun-in building in Yongsan Elec. Market. Enter the front left door, and go about 50 meters. They're on your left, next to a Sony store. I've bought 2 or 3 computers from there. There is another dealer on the opposite end of that same floor where I bought an HP computer with Itaewonguy, and I also helped another friend buy.
