What's that all about?

How so? They won in the finals, and were going home anyway?

I don't get it? Link? Would be a fun story to read.

I'm curious too. Like a link from a news source, not some blog site.

Your response was "it is the way the music is" How can the 3 second gap be contributed to this?

But whatever, you don't think that anyone did anything wrong.. keep your head in the clouds, or in the ground like a stupid ostrich. Rolling Eyes

You mean you don't want what you believe (even without any ground) to be challenged and just want to keep your head in the clouds or in the grould like a stupid ostrich. Did you even check the music? Here's a youtube clip for you: Aram Khachatrian's Waltz from Masquerade. Be attentive especially from 2:40 to 3:00. And this must be the show we are talking about: 2008 Figure Skating Grand Prix Final Asada Mao. Just compare them carefully and then we can talk. When you want to say something with so much disturbing confidence, make sure to know at least a little about it.

You should have read this before you persued this line of reasoning: http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/09/01/108-appearing-to-enjoy-classical-music/

Quote:
If a white person starts talking to you about classical music, its essential that you tread very lightly. This is because white people are all petrified that they will be exposed as someone who has only a moderate understanding of classical music. When a white person encounters another white person who actually enjoys classical music (exceptionally rare), it is often considered to be one of the most traumatic experiences they can go through.

Really? Beethovens 5th Symphony.thats your favorite.
um, no, I mean
You sure its not Pachebels Canon?
well, ah, I like that, ah, song
sigh, of course you do.

Even the possibility of this conversation happening is enough to scare white people into attending up to (but no more than) two performances in any given classical season. Therefore it is essential that even if you possess a massive amount of knowledge about classical music, do not share it with a white person regardless of how much they profess to love it. Its a recipe for disaster and shame.

Any news sources that don't have an anti-Korean bias?

So are you saying that the Taiwanese are lying and they were not sent home early? That blog has the Tawainese news story if you can read Mandarin. Here is a Youtube link of the tv news reporting on it.

I doubt any Korean papers did a story on it and I guess the NY Times doesnt cover Korean little league ball.

I have since watched the clip of Asada's performance and agree tha there was nothing shady happening with the music. It is definitely the music. Like I said in my opening post, I was merely looking to confirm or deny the accusation.

I get tired of those that gleefully relish anything negative about Korea. You guys live and work in the country for crips sake. Some of you guys are dating Koreans or even are married to them. Yet you can't wait to find a negative story about Korea. That is what's really sad and pathetic.

livinginkunsan, time to man up and apologize for insulting doggyji.
