Re: subtitles...in theatres they don't. On the internet downloads, or on DVD, they often do.

Absolutely insane. Too over the top for most people. Not enough good has been said about this movie. Probably the most progressive movie to come out of Korea. Even a lot of Korean independent cinema is hackneyed and derivative, not so with this one.

in terms of recent movies, i really liked "Radio Star." about a washed-up rocker who goes to a small town to be a dj. k-punk group No Brain is in it, they're hilarious, and it has a nice *beep* you to Gangnam and soulless corporate capitalism.

"Tears" (Nunmul) is a bit older, its like the korean version of Larry Clark's "Kids," but they sniff gas instead of roll.

"Dasepo Naughty Girls" is sexy and funny as hell...

i've also heard really good things about "Save the Green Planet"....someone brought it up when i said i liked "Dasepo" and was wondering if there were any other odd, heavily ironic comedies out there.

Machine Girl is Japanese no?

Memories of Murder is all I can think of recent.

A question---anyone know the name od a "trilogy" which three short films -one each from Japan Korea and China. Played art-house circuit a year ago?
