Went for three weeks in 2006. The country is amazing and the friendliness of the people is incomparable! Just be sure to fly in and out of the country. I had a run-in with some scary arms-toting soldiers on the Thai-Burmese border, which up until that day had been open to crossing. I went there with only $10 left in my wallet expecting to cross over to Thailand. Instead the soldiers kept my passport and escorted me to an ATM on the other side, stood by me as I withdrew money, and then marched me back into Burma where I was forced to fork out $600 to get various flights back into Thailand.
But, yeah.. amazing place!!!! Bagan and Inle Lake are definite highlights!
