I bought my samsung 42' 1080p from my local Himart....better price than the net as it was on sale.

Yea all the sets here regardless of what company is "stamped" on the front will either have a Samsung or LG Phillips panel in them anyways. I have found a Tri-view 32inch on auction.co.kr for 520 000, seems decent.

What price is that?

I'm thinking about getting a 42' TV though from the looks of it is 1080p really necessary? Is there any brand in Korea will do because they all have the same chipsets from samsung and lg or what?

What about 120 mhz. Is that the new standard? I read somewhere that it makes a lot of difference.

1.4mill (that's including the small finance charge cause I stretched over 10months on my Sammy card). I think it was a good deal (not spectacular) and it looks damn good on xbox and ps3. You can tell the diff between 1080 and 720 easily.

But there's a lot more to the TV than just the panels. There are also the electronics behind it.

Really? I have a samsung card, didn't know I could do that? What was the finance charge can I ask? I might be getting me a TV this weekend or next Razz

As of yesterday in the USA, Vizio 42" 1080P HDTV's were going for $600.
