A friend of mine was in an orchestra in Dunedin with David Bain. She told me that she visited him while he was on remand waiting for trial. When she asked him if he did it, David said that he couldn't remember.

So, who knows?

It's not for us to say. Have to trust the judge and jury to get it right. Certainly can't trust Bain, the police*, the lawyers or the media.

Having said that, I don't really care. I very much doubt that he's a threat to society, whatever happened that day.

*I generally have a lot of trust and respect for the police. Most of them have a difficult job and do it to the best of their ability. The bad apples are famous because they're exceptional. But in a court case, they often get too wrapped up in making a prosecution, just like DAs in the US.

You know, if I were innocently accused of viciously murdering five family members, I'd bloody well remember that I didn't do it!

If your friend's statement is true, dude sounds totally guilty.

But I doubt you've ever experienced the stress of coming home to a dead family. The brain blocks some things out.

Again we just don't have access to all the facts. Really it's okay to withhold judgement until all the data is in.

I'm glad to see a jury was able to find what I always thought was a glaringly obvious reasonable doubt. Bain is free. the Police really did *beep* it up from day one. I think they railroaded David Bain as they did Arthur Thomas. How much cash will Bain get? Thomas got a mill.

The NZ Police really have suffered a ton of bad press in the last few years.
