world war 3! its funny how they call it that! I mean how many wars have their been in the past 10.000 years??? more than 2 big ones IM sure..

Those two wars changed the demographics of most of Europe. There were over ten million soldiers dead during WW1. A couple of million just in Europe. WW2 was more than 20 million soldiers dead. Those are pretty big numbers in Western history. When it comes to war those numbers are pretty big in any history.
Then too were the after affects of war, pneumonia and cholera - but, the industrialisation during war helped find new cures for diseases ... in that case is war a good thing? Well, not if we have to live through it.

Anyone else feel like the world is heading straight for a war? I'm not talking the war on terror or whatever, like all out world war. With the economy like it is, the Middle East still trying to destroy each other, North Korea set to launch a missile/satellite/monkey/RC rocket/whatever it is, the Taliban surrounding Kabul, and many other factors I foresee this getting very, very bad.

Anyone with me?

If not I at least have the backing of one of my classes of 13 year olds

umm....it pertains to everything.

and having a degree in History makes you think these kind of things.

relax..... The world has always had big problems and always will.

You have a degree in history, then you must know that things where bad in most of the past ex. slavery, the holocaust, World War 1, 2, Cold war, Vietnam, Korea, cuban missle crisis, and it goes on and on.......

BTW I think relative to history things are normal.

"Relative to history", war is normal. If history teaches us anything it's that peace is temporary, war inevitable. I'd expect the coming wars to be globalized just like everything else.
