That's the way I see it too. If they do try to strike, tens of millions of people are likely to be obliterated in S. Korea and Japan. Missiles are targeted on Seoul and Tokyo. |
I think the US and SK have the capability, along with Japan, to hit NK hard, fast and to largely neutralize their offensive ability so as to bring that number way down. The largest estimates Ive seen are at about 1 million, not tens of millions. I doubt it would be even close to that though. |
still there would be serious damage and pretty much cripple this economy
curfews would be in effect like back in the 70's everything would close down and Im sure every foreigner and his dog would be heading south to get on ferries to japan to get back home... |
There would be damage but I really dont see the NK army lasting more than a week except for some independent units conducting guerrila warfare. Sea and air superiority would be total.
The missiles are a worry but I think they can be taken down. The US and SK do have interceptors. But again, the threat from missiles would be something to worry about within the first few hours before they are either shot down or taken out before being launched. |
eerily similar to what everyone almost everyone says when a small, underestimated, almost-universally-hated nation goes up against the "big boys." like, say, vietnam? even if their forces are underfed, overmatched, and outgunned, pinned down, etc... what makes you think that western powers will be accepted as the saviours everyone makes them out to be? |

Thats a worry, yet I cant help but weigh the two alternatives and the one with KJI, his cronies or anyone else from that regime gone is a much better alternative to me, even if that means an Iraq type situation for a few years. The difference being that neither Vietnam or Iraq had massive stores of WMDs and was threatening to use them on neighbors. We may not be welcomed, but who cares? Disarm and dismantle, first. |

Considering that nukes would wipe out both countries, I'd think that both countries are much too smart for that. |

| I briefly saw in the news that the bomb went OVER Japan? I never found a map to see if it REALLY want over it, or if that just meant it went over and into the body of water between North Korea and Japan. |

Serious?
How could a communications satellite get into position if it just did a little swan dive?
Japan denies it REALLY went over. It apparently did not leave any debris to fall on Japan. |

It wasn't a bomb, it was a communications satellite.
Besides, how many UN Resolutions are the jews in violation of??? Where is the global outcry over that????
NK has every right to launch a satellite if they wish to, just like they have the right to nukes. If the jews got 'em, then everyone has the right to have 'em.
They're all crazy anyway. None are innocent, despite the protestations of the brainwashed apologists out there. |

In 2003, that's what pro-war Americans thought an invasion of Iraq would be like. There was going to be shock and awe and the war was going to be over in a week or two.

| Most of the damage the norks could inflict would happen within the first 12 hours, thats why the first priority would be to hit them hard and fast at their point of strength - the artillery. Realistically, how many salvos could they get off without having any given piece of artillery taken out? I dont think shelling of Seoul would last very long. After that, they would be done. |
If the Israelis, along with their god and my tax dollars, were impotent in stopping a handful of deranged militiamen from firing rockets into Israel, how are the South Koreans going to stop the Norks, who have a LOT more men than Hezbollah had and have MUCH better missiles? And as deranged and fanatical as those guys in Hezbollah are, the North Koreans probably even have them beat on that too. Hezbollah looks like they're half sane, half mentally ill. From the video clips I've seen of North Korean rallies and cultural events, the North Koreans look like they're completely off the deep end entirely, like we need to equip our warheads with Prozac or Zoloft or some such shit.
I'm not saying there isn't merit to trying to end the sick North Korean regime. I'm just saying maybe we, for once, need to look at the prospect of war without the rose colored glasses we've worn in the past. I agree that North Korea would lose, but maybe it wouldn't be a cakewalk. It seems like it never is. |

As was brought to my attention on this site, it seems the North Koreans like to create a scene every now and again when times get hard. This way the South will give em money to stop it cos theyre still deep down or not so deep down the same country, and they basically still need to protect them.
So now times are getting harder and so they need attention and a cash injection, hence the fuss being made. Theyre more clinging on to survival than anything else. You know if it got heavy theyd be wiped out very very quickly, they cant be that strong at all. But no one wants to cause a scene especially South Korea. |
