| I just bought an acer aspire one for about 350 canadian. I went standard HD over the SS HD because the SS ones can bog up the system due to slower write speeds. I am impressed with it so far. The price is decent too. |

| Ditto on the Acer Aspire1. Small, light...not a replacement for my desktop PC. I have not installed the Micro XP, I have 1.5 GB and 160 GB HD...so I am not too worried about space, yet. The price was right, under 300 USD at Staples, plus a slug of discounts and coupons that I was saving. |

Not in Korea, you don't.
Ask a Korean to search in Korean for prices on netbooks. Several months ago I saw one -- a name brand -- listed at about the same price as in the U.S., but it was a Korean language listing - and the OS was in Korean.
And of course don't even think of buying at a store like EMart or LotteMart. Their prices are more than double U.S. prices for laptops. |

I have the Asus 900 upgraded to 2GB of memory and it works perfectly.
At work I use a Mac G5 and a Dell 530 - and as far as Office stuff and web surfing the 900 is just as good.
You're not going to edit videos with any speed on the Asus but that isn't what its for.
I boot into XP on the 4GB C drive. I install programs on the 8GB F drive. I have a 8 GB SDHC card that I use to store videos and mp3s. If I want to boot into Ubuntu I have another 8 GB SDHC card that I just swap in and reboot. |

I got a 901eee a month or so back off gmarket, quite happy with it. I'm on it now infact. It's korean XP though, which is not too much trouble, I use it at work all the time, but I have wanted to change over to a custom xp (tinyxp) and haven't been able to because of the lack of a CD drive. tried making a bootable usb too, but no luck.
Anyway, I'd buy it again. It's good fun being to play late ninties/early naughties games on the way to work. |

| If you have access to a PC somewhere else and a wireless router, you can use the PC's drive as a networkable one. Otherwise you can get a USB IDE converter cheaply in Yongsan and put a desktop CD ROM in that. |
