Vermont - best state in the union.

Good on those lawmakers for the courage to at least begin to address the way overbroad definition of "child pornography."

No, but it is dumb to suggest that the government rather than the parents are responsible for creating those boundaries.

I'm trying, but I can't think of the last time you made a post that wasn't completely polar from the start.

And as for you Ya ta boy.......keep talking your shit. Becauase we all know that you wouldn't have the minerals to say anything like you posted to somones face. You would much rather curl up on a sock drawer.

Again, another example (thank you YTB) of polarizing the issue.

Wow. Tough talking internet bully. Right on.

Yes.....kids need boundaries. Parents can't watch their CHILDREN 24/7.

Finally, we get to the issue. Since parents can't watch their children at all hours, let's do several things.

Let's make the internet illegal. That way kids can't look at porn.
Let's make playing cards illegal, so that kids can't gamble.
Let's shut down every brewery and distillery in the United States so kids can't raid mom and pop's liquor cabinet.
Let's make cars illegal so kids can't get into car accidents.

When it rains logic, it pours.

All you did was provide "gotcha distractions"..........nothing more.

Kids need boundaries.......period.

(this is what happens when you allow a hollywood, pop stars and the far left to influence soceity..........that and empowering kids combined with bad parenting).

Sweet.........more attempts to dissuade the attention from the topic by using humor and comparisions that don't have much resemblence to the point.

if you give it a real think, perhaps in an especially comfortable part of the apartment, surrounded by very soothing colours, you might realize that perhaps one of the reasons people don't expend much energy into their replies to you is because we are a bit.. hmm mystified by your habit of posting news stories with no contribution from you except a subject heading. it seems that for this post you contributed "take vermont.. please". does anyone besides me find it amusing that he is complaining about posters "attempting to disuade attention from the topic by using humour" and not giving enough attention to what the article contains?

Actually, I really don't care if you or others don't wish to respond to various articles that I find and post.

The reason I don't really give my opion on the matter(s) very often is that I like to see what other people think about it. I know what the articles contain.........I read and posted them.

In regars to this article, I just find it amazing how (and this is not only with this particular article. There are pleanty of things about Vermont that make it such shit hole, in regards to its leaders and politics) people just can't seem to come to terms with the fact that ..............

...kids need boundaries.

If you or anyone wants to know what I truly think about it, ask...rather then go through your little loop hole sessions.

i don't think anyone is questioning KIDS........ NEEDING.........BOUNDARIES so the bludgeoning of the point is unnecessary. if i were to have kids i would be a subtle mix of mortified and amused to find that they had "sexted". but, i hope to have raised a child with more sense than to have done something so incredibly dumb. honestly, parents today Rolling Eyes

So my teen daughter flashed a little tit at her boyfriend, big freakin' deal. O, I'm not crazy about the idea, but I let her know I'm unhappy and explain why it is a bad idea, and hopefully she won't repeat it. If you ever had teenaged kids you'd know that the bigger deal you make out of it, the more counterproductive it becomes.

Lighten up already, prude.

Prude, eh? Well, if making sure my children mind their P's & Q's means that I have to be a prude.......so be it. Things like this ARE a big deal. So, I guess being called a prude for the sake of my kids (if I had them) is a compliment.

If I do ever have kids, by the time they are teenagers they WILL ALREADY know that things of this nature are NOT acceptabled. There will not have to be a discussion.

IOW, kids turn out to do exactly what their parents planned. Yep. It's now official. You're (It's soooo tempting to write 'dmb')...naive. Nah, why be polite? You're dmb.

YTB, were you not given enough attention as a child? Again, keep talking shit and chalk it up....because we all know that you don't have the balls to say anything like that to another persons face.

But, I will acknowledge one point. NO...kids don't always turn out how parents planned. Mistakes will happen. But, damage control is very important and when kids know right from wrong, have parents that are not afraid of them and who will set boundaries.......things can progress with less fear.

The issue is still the same.

Kids need boundaries....................period.

I'm actually curious.

If you have teenager dmbfan and they did do this, even after you told them it was completely unacceptable, what would you do? Call the police?

Secondly why does the state have to give these kids boundaries in this area? Why not the parents?

Thirdly, what should the punishment be for this crime?

Fourthly, teenage girls are having sex with teenage boys. I lost my virginity when I was 16 to a girl of the same age. Most of my friends had already lost theirs. Don't you think you are ignoring this in your outrage over sexting?

Fifthly, why do you feel the need to write period when it is right there at the end of the sentence.....question mark.
