I'll be heading back to Boracay for the fourth time in 3 years in August. If you steer clear of station 2 there is serenity to be found there. I prefer an active nightlife when I travel though, so I suppose it's a matter of taste.
As far as the whole Korean thing goes, yeah, they are there in droves but mainly stick together (big shocker there), eat together, shop together, stay at the same Korean-owned/Korean-friendly resorts, etc. They also seem to disappear around 10:00. It's not so bad, and it is kind of fun sometimes to see stragglers become so completely helpless when they get seperated from the flock.
A friend of mine who runs a bar there said he realized why K-couples wear couple tees after a panicked girl ran up to him and frantically pointed to her shirt saying, "Same? Where? Same? Where?" Her newlywed husband had apparently gone to buy smokes while she was in the bathroom or something |

Boracay's great, but make sure you visit within the next five years as the frantic pace of development there might take its toll on the scenery.
The sunset view is second to none; I still think about it. |

How did it start? What happened during the fight? Did the police get involved? |

I liked Boracay. Our resort was nice on the outside but the rooms sucked (crazy humidity--worse inside than out). Since you are going in the off-season, I might even recommend not booking a place and bargaining when you get there. I stayed at the cheapest place I found online and I met a couple of other travelers who had just walked in to places that were fine and cheaper than ours.. and we were there over the Lunar New Year.
Snorkeling was great there... I saw more variety of fish in Thailand but the water in Boracay was much clearer and the coral was awesome. |

I've been to Boracay 4 times now.
I've never noticed a large contigent of Koreans...I notice them at one particular restaurant that they frequent - there are probably 100 restaurants easily in Boracay. They also stay at the same few hotels out of 100s of choices.
So, unless you are really searching them out, or have such an anti-korean streak that the mere sight of one makes you unpack your KKK sheets...then it shouldn't be a problem whatsoever.

Regarding Boracay in general...it's a gorgeous beautiful place. |

I plan on hitting Boracay again this year. The sunset is just too incredible, and White Beach is probably the best I've been to.
I especially wanna be there when Manny Pacquiao fights the winner of the Floyd Mayweather-Juan Manuel Marquez in January. The place should be wild. |

What sort of price are you looking at for general things like accommodation, food and travel? Is it on a par with places like Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam?
Also, can anyone recommend an itinerary for one months travel? |
