remember when you only got plastic covers on your drinks if you got the drink "to go"?
Now people put a cap on it and then walk to their table five feet away and put a straw in it .
Can't people just drink it without a cap and straw?
The cap was originally designed for food 'to go', not so you could carry it five feet to your table. Do people cap their drinks at home?
Why is everyone capping their drinks?
"hey man their's no more caps here!"
so what!!!!!! |
Is all this not a legacy of the crazy lawsuits that have been filed against McDonald's in recent years over too-hot coffee and the like?
It seems like they're idiot-proofing absolutely everything nowadays to cover their erses and avoid yet more legal nonsense... |

Well, don't forget that when you order a meal in a fast food restaurant, it's given to you on a slippery tray. I'm sure the small cost of plastic lids more than make up for the annoyance of having thirty or so careless people everyday spill thier their drinks before they get to their seat. I've done it before, and have even had a McDonald's employee spill a drink on the front of my pants (in Canada, Wasaga beach ).
Anywheres, I think kangnamdragon hit the nail on the head, and reiterrated my opening point that McD's hypocrisy (not that that is anything particularly new from them and their ilk, mind you) reeks of...well, hypocrisy -- AND OF THE FIRST ORDER.
I'm not a big anti-corporate Joe (maybe a little one, though), but it irks me to no end when I think about sh*t like that. Sh*t a lot of people overlook or don't have time to care about.
Again, I sincerely hope that someone gets ahold of this story (and it's likely that in Japan, China, Russia -- damned near everywhere, except for Canada -- similar ads or campaigns are running) and lets the American people know that sweet old Uncle Ronald would sell out their own people to boost their slagging and near panic-stricken overseas markets.
Screw yoo, Ronnie.

One cow, right? And the whole world gets paranoid? I'll take my chances. I'm just worried about crossing the damn road... |

Has anyone seen the commercials McD's has been pimping on Korean teevee? They're claiming they have 100% Australian beef in they're burgers (gee, wonder why?), and showing meat in a grinder.

Is this better or worse than the ad they had here a few years ago of the little kid picking his nose....? I'm not sure. |

There's a film that was causing stirs at Sundance recently where this guy documented himself eating at McDonald's three times a day for thirty days. He had a camera crew with him and three doctors analyzing what happened to him. Obviously he put on a lot of weight, and his cholesterol shot up dangerously. The scariest thing is that one of the doctors said that his liver had turned into pate. The guy got inspired to do this film after he saw McDonald's telling the public in 2002 that its food was healthy.

Title and a link please.
I'd like to find out more about this.

But if you like burgers, you should love sausage. Ever think about what goes into that delicacy? |
Mmmmmmmmm. Assholes and lips! As long as there's nothing I can recognize I have no complaints. |
We can say "asshole" here?
Edit: I guess not. |
