I'm curious as well, Alias. We adopted a kitten over a year ago, and we can't leave her here when we go home. I've looked at all the info, and cats do not require a quarantine when arriving in the U.S. They do have to have their shots (rabies, etc) and look reasonably healthy when they arrive. Also, you don't have to fly on the same flight as your pet.

We are worried about her adjusting, as it will be more than 3 months transition time for her. We won't be in our permanent home in the U.S. until February, and we plan to ship her in November. However, whatever happens to her as she's continually being shifted around has got to be better than leaving her here! We are too worried that she'd eventually end up in the streets and we refuse to let that happen to her.

Anyone have adjustment stories of their pets they've taken home from Korea?

I used to have a rabbit named Jack. He was a big black rabbit that was quite nice most of the time though occasionally he would try to put the moves on our female cat. At least I think that's what he was doing - he would try to put his chin on her back, but never got any farther as the cat would take off right away.
I don't want to badmouth Jack as he died back in 1995 and we didn't let him out of his cage as much as we should have.
