Ok, so I'll start the bidding at 200,000... in Won, of course, not in dollars! |

Really? It's 255... dollars? I haven't touched/seen a dollar bill for so long now, I thought almost everyone in Korea used Won. Guess I was wrong.
Anyway, in case that was a typo, then I'll take my chance with 260,000 won. |

I'm new here... here being Dave's ESL Cafe and Korea! I still cannot send or receive private messages as it seems I need to have at least 25 posts, so I will have to ask you my question here: Is your Ipod in English or Korean?
Maybe it is a stupid question, but like I said, I am new here, so I don't really know what to expect. I just discovered I will have to "use a computer" (read "struggle") at work that has a Korean version of XP, so I'm worried your Ipod might be the same. If it is all in English, though, then I'll offer 280,000 won. |

Did you sell it?
Like I said, I'm new here . I didn't know that I could receive private messages even though I cannot send any yet, so I didn't see your message until today.
I don't have a phone set up yet. I'm a bit out of Seoul, so I will go and try to get a cell phone as soon as I can, so in the mean time, it's more convenient for me if we can communicate through this Web site.
Anyway, if you already sold your Ipod last weekend, then please let me know and then that's it. |

the thing about used ipods is that the battery needs to be replaced much sooner than on a brand new one.
which means the new owner will have to cash out 70-80$ +S&H that you have to pay to officially replace a batter with Apple.
which is why I think that the price given here was a little too much.
according to most people it needs to be replaced every two years, so if your ipod is more than a year old, 330k is way overpriced.
I'm currently looking to buy a 2g from yongsan and last I checked 32 GB model was 500k (maybe cheaper if you bring cash) and 16g model around 420k
it's still a bit of a rip off though since in US, you can get it WAY cheaper
I kind of wish I had more patience to wait till I live the country, but the long Korean comutes are getting to me, so I'm probably gonna cash out and buy one at Yongsan as well.
PS has anybody been to Costco lately? how much are they there? if they keep the US prices, it should be much cheaper and probably safer to buy there too |

im not sure about that, my ipod ive had for a few months lasts long as hell, i have a newer 2g one as well an 8 gig and it seems to drain faster then my older 1g.
i think claiming that with old ipods u must get a new battery might be out of your own personal experience but passing it off as if its a fact and a must for people who are looking to buy an ipod is giving misinformation.
anyways on another note, this items been sold, might have another post for my projection tv, thanks |

it's not an opinion. it's a fact about lithium ion batteries. they expire after 2-3 years of continuous usage.
when they do, you have to change them. unfortunately for ipods though, you can't do that yourself (ever tried removing the battery? well you can't)
you have to pay a hefty fee to apple to do that for you.
it's actually one of the known CONs about the ipods in general...sort of a ripoff on Apple's part
the other being the fact that you have to pay money to update OS on ipod touch. which I personally find ridiculous...yet im still getting one just cause it's so damn cool:) |
