Dang, you mean to tell me it's another lackluster Hollywood hit? What's up with Hollywood these days? Might it be due to declining revenues from internet downloading, online DVD rentals, and fewer people going out to the movies?

Due to having no local theaters and movie rental services catering to my needs, I download all these different newer movies and most of them I can't watch as they're boring or lacking enough of anything to draw me in to be compelled to sit through them for 90 minutes or longer. It's getting harder and harder to dig up a good flick. I used Netflix back home and only sometimes went out for a movie. Netflix also offers millions of titles. I would had gone out regularly and spent $12 to $15 on a movie if I had more income. I also would had gone out more to socialize if a tiny bottle of Budweiser weren't $8 at a nice upscale bar catering to people 30+ years old.

Actually, movie revenues are still increasing... Confused

So they should put some more effort into making awesome movies like many of the classics before the 2000's were. Guess they're slipping on quality by depending on computers while resting on their laurels. I'd probably do the same if I was sitting on easy money.

It was a spineless effort by Spielberg and Bay. Very gimmicky and reminds me more and more of The Phantom Menace.

Its another franchise that has sold out faithlessly and has hit rock bottom in the process.

I couldnt enjoy it more, nothing is more exciting than robots fighting, whatever others think of this movie.

2 hours was not long enough for me, the second half is better than the first half.

Several things I didnt like:
Megan Fox was acting too much by showing off her ass and lips.
The robot giant in the end of the movie was horrible and ugly, looked like a huge piece of junk.
The two Martiz robots ( the green and red one who spoke with an African American accent) were sad...
The whole story is silly, but it is a Hollywood high budget movie, this is what they usually do.

You do realize that Transformers is based on A TOY LINE FOR KIDS, right?

Laughing Right. Like The Transformers franchise used to be a wonderfully artistic, not-in-it-for-the-money, cultural mainstay.

I seem to remember encountering this idea before though. That Transformers is some kind of important cultural phenomenon and not a plastic toy from the 80's.

Maybe it's the same as how nerdy adults who were kids (me, partially) of the 70's feel about Star Wars......because it was really mind-blowing to them when they were 10 years old, they feel it must be a really significant thing.

These films represent two of the worst films I have seen in recent memory. I went into them merely hoping to kill time, but could not even sit through to the end.

Just because it's based on a toy line doesn't absolve it from not making a damn bit of sense.

This guys FAQ pretty much nails it on the head

I am waiting for the Transformers movie franchise to be re-booted in 2019 and made the proper way.

The original Transformers animated movie was tons better (even though it had Weird Al Yankovic songs in it)

Right, but there was still a golden opportunity to make something more lasting and meaningful then that drivel.

Others seem to agree...
