Politics is a dirty business, Fox. Do not get fooled by one or the other side's self-righteous claims to justice and purity while criminalizing the other side's decisions and policies.

I see how it is; you think I'm being partisan here.

My desire to see elected representatives investigated for potentially criminal actions crosses party boundaries. Republican, Democrat, Green, Independent, etc; if they did something potentially criminal, they need to be investigated, and if evidence of criminal behavior is found, they need to stand trial.

Can you cite anyone outside of the far left who is calling for "criminal" prosecutions against former W. Bush administration officials?

I think we both know who is calling for a given investigation is totally irrelevent to whether or not said investigation is warranted. I agree politicians do things for political reasons; those who are for investigation are for it for political reasons, those who are against it are against it for political reasons. It just so happens, though, that someone being for something for political reasons doesn't automatically make that something wrong -- politicians can be for the right course of action for the wrong reasons, and often are. I'm not interested in who is calling for what and why, I'm interested in what should be done and why.

I'm going to ask you a question. You can choose to answer it if you like, or you can not answer it (which is an answer is and of itself). Do you feel the Bush administration acted 100% within the boundaries of the law? If not, why should they be immune to investigation of and potential prosecution for their lawless behavior? If, on the other hand, you feel the Bush administration acted 100% within the boundaries of the law, what "bad things" could McCain possibly be referring to?

I think this is a very simple and reasonable question, and answering it will help me understand your position on this matter. Thanks in advance.

Sure, Fox. I thought I had already answered this when I explained that I saw politics as "dirty."

Here it is in less subtle form:

I generally believe politics and unfortunately politicians operate in a different sphere. They write and modify laws, they interpret laws, they enforce laws. The law is rather arbitrary, but it works on different levels.

It just does not work for me on this particular level.

If you want to take action against the W. Bush administration, I suggest you vote them out of office or become the next Timothy McVeigh, as Ya-ta Boy seems to aspire to become, above...

Good. One might have left it at that a few years ago.
