I think listening to reggae music is the closest I've ever come to religion. It's a good tactic - religious lyrics to music that isn't lame country pop rock, or worse, Christian metal.
"Walking down Babylon Lane / Trying to live my life in peace / Two young men call me not their brother / They try to make 'I' feel ashamed / But I Love I Jah / He tells me not to be that way"
I consider myself an atheist, but I remember in Venice beach seeing some Atheist club having set up a tent and it was a couple old fogeys sitting there who obviously had nothing else to do. |
Some Christian Metal has some pretty mean riffs though...you gotta admit...but I'm a guitar guy.... |

I think that the OP is being satirical - though he's probably willing to converse over a few beers ...
Regarding belief being seen as futile and a trap, that won't be known for certain until the time of death.
It's true that intelligent people want a more scientific or philosophical explanation to go along with religious sentiment or dogma.
And many people are turned off when so-called big religious and spiritual leaders are exposed as big cheaters and phonies motivated by some material gain.
However, big atheists also present misleading arguments and influence otherwise innocent people to turn away from the spiritual path leading to true happiness (because of lack of empirical evidence for God - as if God's greatness can be measured ... ) |
Certainly, at death everyone will know that there is a God and that it is time to answer for the actions your life. What if those that don't believe in God are wrong, what will they do then? Upon you last breath, it is too late. Today is the day of salvation, believ now before it is too late. |

you will all burn in hell
or perhaps you might become a worm in your next life, depending on what exactly it is you don't believe. |

Oh the great wisdom of Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort. Not sure if this post is meant in jest or not, but if you're serious...
Bananas from the store are genetically engineered, chemically treated and selectively bred to be bright yellow, have no seeds and be easily peeled. Wild bananas look like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/eb/Inside_a_wild-type_banana.jpg
Bananas today have been "created" by man.
Aside from this fact, if wild bananas looked and tasted like the store variety, that would be an example of evolution. Bananas which are easier to de-peel, look tastier and are tastier would be eaten more frequently than those that didn't. As a result, the more desirable bananas would have their seeds scattered and fertilized more frequently, leaving more offspring.
Sorry to derail this into a creation/evolution debate, but it seems like it's been a while since one of these popped up, and I miss the days of MM2 and Tomato vs. Itaewonguy and Junior. |

I didn't think atheists believed in the Seoul.
But I also didn't think I would type something that lame. The summer is long. |
