I have to admit to my school "not hiring someone becuase of TOO many questions".
A few months ago my manager was searching for a new teacher. I talked with a number of them on the phone or via e-mail and one stuck out to me. Nice enough guy with lots of enthusiasm. I said "this is the one". A few more e-mails.. and he was no longer the one.
He started to write the oddest questions I had ever seen. I wish I could give better examples but he had worked out how much he'd make per minute and then compared it to teaching in Canada. He seemed more worried about exchange rates and pay than the school its self. We ended up choosing someone who was interested in our school, our program and our policies (this person asked about these things).
I'd usually say "too many questons could never be a bad thing" but in the case of this guy, it turned out so. I met the guy after he came here and although nice enough i'm glad it turned out the way it did. The "questioning" was a sign of something else (that I later saw here). |
