women, that is, most of them, are mischievous and malign creatures whose intent is to steal from you your money and time, have you buy them expensive gucci bags, a nice house, and treat them like a princess. some of them accomplish this more or less successfully over an extended period of time, until their facade beauty begins to decrepit and the hitherto spell-bound bloke decides to put an end to exploitation and moves on... to the next one. i'm not mysoginistic, i'm just realist. having said that, i must add that most of my relationships with these creatures have been fulfilling, because i don't buy chik sheet... and especially now that i am in this side of the world, i'm not gonna start making concessions...

I agree. This is just stupid. I'm not surprised it's American's that would study something as obviously wrong as this about women and sex. Our country can be very screwed up about such things, especially Texas.

Seriously, a man who has had sex with more than 1 or 2 women and hasn't been with one who would end forever the idea that women just aren't as enthusiastic about sex as men has to be one unlucky guy. Yeah, I've met women who think there role is to be there, naked and willing. They have been taught that sex is a burden for women, and they think we poor males should be grateful to them for allowing us to enter their precious holy temples.

On the other hand, I've been with women who get every bit as horny for men as we get for them. I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to judge how horny a woman is by what article of clothing she removes first.
If it is her own clothes - she's in the mood. If she goes for my shirt - she's kinda eager. If she goes straight for the belt buckle - well I wouldn't tease her too much before surrendering. That's how I got that scar.

There have been historical periods when it was simply assumed obvious that a women's sex drives were stronger then men's just as the opposite is assumed in America today. Some ancients feared women's sex drives.

I can only assume that the 2 boffins responsible for this study have had poor sex lives and are trying to justify it.

Basically.

To be fair, being from Texas myself (and a strict Southern Baptist upbringing, at that), it can take a lot of work to reverse the ideas planted in your head from the time you're small that sex for women is essentially men taking something from them. And, due to the fact that this is the general consensus, some men don't seem to feel the need to do much to satisfy their partners (since women aren't supposed to enjoy sex anyway).

But it's still a load of crap. Women love sex just as much as men. In varying degrees, of course. Me, personally, a LV purse is not going to make up for crap sex. Keep your cash and start trying a little harder in the sack. Thanks.

What prudes were they interviewing. And does SEX imply everything. Maybe thats what women think if you skip the foreplay. Some girls must be really bored wanting it multiple times everyday.

Wow, next people will be doing scientific studies based on the results people get from their cosmo magazine quizzes.

I remain skeptical.

Is your conclusion that these beliefs balance each other out, and men and women have on average the precise same level of lust? The old 'at one time people thought the opposite of what you think, therefore you're both wrong' argument, eh?

I think you can answer your question yourself: do all of your male friends have the same sex drive? Do men as a group have the same sex drive or libido? Course not. Some men can do with a good romp a couple of times a week. Others, several times a day. Do women have the same sex drive as men? No, it's different, but they do enjoy sex. That is, when you discount the ones that don't enjoy it. That's true on both sides of the gender fence--although arousal may constitute a different software program! Very Happy

I always just figured men were more apt to bang strangers based on looks and how common prostitution is. But I believe girls like it nearly as much, just are more unlikely to ride the bones of strangers maybe, not always, given how common one night stand deals are.

(sorry for those poorly constructed sentences)

No, but kinda close enough. The idea of comparable levels of lust seems completely beyond the realm of human knowledge. If you could find some way of measuring lust in intensity and over time, my guess would be you would find two bell shaped curves with a great deal of overlap. Yes, you might conclude gender plays a nonsignificant factor in levels of lust.

The simple truth is every woman I have been with is different. Which is annoying. And exciting. And annoying.

I am uncomfortable with the idea of "both wrong." I prefer "culturally produced with no relationship to reality."

I'm curious what kind of ratios they had on their statistics. There were very few hard numbers there, except for the 1 person out of 1000 who said the bit about God. Anyone else think it's suspicious that they have no mention of anyone saying it was for pleasure? My guess is that there is a large chunk of the data unreported.
