| I like the blog because it is so banal and normal. Also, the message board is quite good sometimes. They are some real characters on there. |

| I think people like it because it is honest and funny. The guy doesn't take himself too seriously, and half of what he says is just poking fun. |

| Despite being a republican idiot, I admire asmith for teaching me many lessons on trolling and how not to live in Korea in general. |

I enjoyed reading honest accounts of daily life from an alcoholic with low self esteem, because it throws my concerns of responsibility to the wind for a while.
I don't like it when asmith keeps posting negative economic predictions on this site because I believe they are based less upon his knowledge of the world then they are YouTube videos/article snippets that resonate with his own personal experience of life...everything is going to get worse.
Maybe things are going to get worse, maybe they are going to get better. Did asmith predict the economic crisis or is he just stealing credibility from the fact that it did happen and he thinks its going to continue to get worse? He picks around the carcass and tries to rile people based upon speculation...no better or worse than a fortune teller or vulture. His opinion is worth as much as anybody else on this sites, but why does he keep reposting it?
Asmith, acknowledge that the world may recover. I believe you may be right in your analysis.
PM me if you want to meet up. |
The world's not going to recover for a long time. Expect a new war.
But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy our children while drinking Toad Juice.
Life goes on. |

I read his blog everyday. Love it!! Some people need to lighten up!! Life is too short to be critical about a blog that is not meant to be taken seriously.
I also have had to leave my office a few times. I just go in the bathroom, wipe away the tears and try to collect myself!!
A note to Mr. Smith - Thank you for filling my brain with brief sanity in an insane society. |

I'm not a Republican. But I'm not about to slurp up the Obama Kool-Aid, either. |

I just remember you watch Glenn Beck (religiously?) and that's enough to get me to sprain my eye-rolling muscle. Love the blog though. If anything it's a good way to get newbie English teachers to wear condoms and avoid marriage in Korea, otherwise you'rr end up wif a wife dat talks rike dis.

He's the only one on network television who actually talks about the economy. |

| asmith, in my mind you're pretty fat from drinking ridiculous amounts of soju. Am I at least right about that? I mean, even though Lee Hyori is in the commercials, we can all be sure she doesn't drink it because she'd get fat from the ungodly amount of calories one bottle has. |

I've got a little pot belly due to age. I'm 6 feet tall and a 200 pounds. |

i have to stop reading the damn thing at work. i'm laughing at loud and the koreans are wondering what's up. this might get ugly if they check out my browser history..... |
I can't imagine why one would get fired for laughing at a blog at work...unless they saw that you were laughing out loud at asmith's blog and concluded that you could not possibly hold a college degree. |

Nope. Read three days worth when someone mentioned it another thread. That was plenty. An ongoing retelling of the mundane punctuated with soju references, f-bombs and the always hilarious practice of including Koreans' mispronunciations in their quotes, just didn't do it for me.
Don't feel bad though. I don't read any other blogs either. |

| This blog didn't do it for me. I'm usually glad to read about people's experiences in Korea, though. Other blogs that do it for me are Zen Kimchi, The Metropolitician, and the Grand Narrative. |
