Well, there was this time I picked these mushrooms and... oh, not that type of trip...
I can only talk about places I've been. Would love to go to Europe.
In SE Asia, I have a soft spot for Bali. The culture just seems more real to me, even when it's alongside tourist cheese. I like the beaches and the restaurants and the temples and the pirate DVDs.
My favorite country is still Mexico. I worked there for a year and often wonder why I left. Gorgeous architecture, interesting things to see, fresh food and fruit, a pro-fun culture, and the least xenophobic people I've ever met. My school director used to recommend that I date the students! |

(1) Milford Sound, New Zealand
The most beautiful place on the planet! Especiallly just after it rains and the steep-jagged edged mountains literally cry waterfalls.
(2) Siem Riep, Cambodia
Rented a bicycle and rode to see Angkor Watt on my first day and was speechless at first sight. An even better experience was hiring a tuk-tuk and exploring the various temples and incredible landscape in the area.
(3) Varkala, India
Incredible neach with beautiful red-cliffs behind you. Go in February just before monsoon season and have a hell of a time playing in the waves.
(4) Amsterdam, Netherlands
My Mecca. Beautiful city and cool people.
(5) Tokyo, Japan
My favorite city on the planet. Incredible energy and fine-ass girls all around you.
...come to think about it, I was incredibly high in all five of my listed places. |

Ah, that's exactly what I was going to say.
Guatemala hands down. |
It's so rare to find people who have been to Guatemala! What have you done there? |

Hue, Vietnam, a nice play to relax in summer. The last dynasty of VN was located in here. What a beautiful landscape!
Moreover, there are many other beautiful places in VN, such as Ha Long bay, Nha Trang ... |

NW Vietnam... not just Sapa.
Pretty remote and mountainous but fantastic. Beautiful mountains and scenery. Hire a motorbike locally in town and take off into the mountains. I did the inter-town travel by bus. They were overcrowded and dangerous but met lots of nice people. In the towns I was met with great hospitality everywhere I went. People constantly poured tea for me, packed tobacco in the big water pipe, did shots of moonshine with me, and fed me. I loved the remoteness despite the discomfort of traveling around there. |

1.) Sitting in a hot pool watching Arenal volcano erupt every ten minutes. Seriously, watching the red lava at evening and hearing the boulders roll down the mountain is the most amazing experience I have ever had, in all my travels.
2.) Doing the sunrise hot air balloon ride over the ancient ruins of Bagan in Burma makes number two.
3.) Attending the 2009 Arirang Games in Pyongyang. This is the last remaining mass gymnastic display in the world. It also has the Guinness Book of Records for the most number of performers in one venue. The human pixel 'animation screen' is totally unbelievable. |

Spent three months there. Studied Spanish, volunteered for two weeks, worked in a hostel for another two weeks, and generally just hopped on chicken buses to all corners. |

I'm doing mine through Absolute Africa, but there are dozens of companies that do it. Ranging from 1 week to 6 month trips and everything in between. |

Another company is http://www.gapadventures.com/. Have met lots of their satisfied customers and plan on using them next year.
My favourite trip has to be Spain and Portugal. Mostly Seville and Barcelona. |
