Ah Korea, where people are at least still sane when it comes to smokes- Low cost and you can smoke anywhere.

Back in the States I smoked whatever was on special because smokes were so expensive. Towards the end it got pretty lean so I started the whole roll your own thing with the machine and whatnot. Right as I left the state govt taxed RYO to the point where it was the same as normal smokes. Now I always have a spare pack or three.

Always you get the morons- "Why do you smoke?" - 'Because' its cool and I'm addicted.' The whole it's cool thing is great, really throws them for a loop. Sometimes you get a weak "But I don't think it's cool" in reply. Then the obligatory- "Did you know its bad for your health?" Rolling Eyes And non-smokers wonder why we smoke...makes me think about that South Park episode where the non-smoking Kid's Awareness group comes and tells the kids "If you want to be cool like us, don't smoke." Immediately the gang is trying to choke down heaters as fast as possible.

As Jim Leyland, the Detorit Tigers Manager put it during an interview (after the obligatory statements about how kids shouldn't smoke) - "Smokers out there, you know what I'm talking about. That moment, after you've had a huge meal, say at Thanksgiving, when you step outside in the cold, light up a cigarette and take a deep inhale ... that's about the best moment in the world, you know? All the smokers out there, you know that feeling. Sometimes, smoking is fantastic."

Now I don't want to get started on a rant here, but I Hate American non-smokers attitudes towards smoking. Gripes about insurance premiums, gripes about a 'right to clean air' - Hey buddy, your car is way worse for the 'air' than my smoke ever will be. Hey meat eaters, those 2 years I was a vegetarian you didn't hear me whine about all the methane the beef industr possessed. Why? Because its cool with me. Why is it cool with me? Because I'm a smoker and wasn't born with a stick of entitlement up my ....

And speaking of entitlement what gives some whiny uptighter in PineTreeFallsSuburbiaTown/Moleskin University the idea that they should be able to go into Meatandpotatoesville and tell the bar owner (who spent all the time and money building his bar) and the bar patrons whether or not they should be able to have smoking? Have they ever met those people or gotten within a 10000 feet of that place, no. Will they ever go to Meatandpotatoesville? No, too 'rural'. If they were dragged there, would they ever go into that bar, no. Leave people alone.

Why people try to ban smoking in bars and Applebee's for 'health' reasons is beyond me. Hey if you want to be healthy (and eat food that doesn't taste like crap)- don't go to Applebee's.

Bit what REALLY ticked me off is when they tried to ban smoking in the VFW and American Legion halls. Seriously America? The guys who took bullets fighting the Nazis aren't allowed to spend their last years enjoying a smoke with their few surviving friends? Good grief.

Enjoy life while you can soda-drinking, cheese-burger having non-smokers, because after the government taxes cigarettes into oblivion, the next thing they'll go after is soda and fast food in order to make up the lost revenue. Think $1.79 is too expensive for a 20 oz. Coke? wait till they tax it to $2.99

I'm my dad's son. he started at ten and smoked a pack a day of non filters.

me too

february of this year he died at 76. had a couple strokes. everything in his body went dead including ability to see, hear, eat, drink and talk.

the only two things that wouldn't quit were his heart and his lungs.
two weeks later his heart quit.

sometimes I don't like that I'm a smoker but most of the time I don't like that everyone else is not.

I dont smoke now, but i had a phase where i smoked pretty heavily for about a year. I had never gotten so sick for such a long time in my entire life. sometimes id wake up just feeling like shit, from smoking too much the night before.

having a smoke or 2 with a drink is fine, but after that youll feel like shit and kill off your immune system.

I smoke a couple of packs a day. In fact, there's one dangling from my lips as I type.

My only response to all male smokers is that during periods when my partner smokes more, his performance in the bedroom deteriorates...

Smoking is a stimulant, not a depressant, which increases heart rate and general circulation (thus more / than ~). Perhaps there is another common denominator present responsible for his...um... lack of enthusiasm Rolling Eyes Razz

I miss Marlboro Smooths and Camel Frosts. Dunhill Freeze is okay, but way harsher.

My favorite non-mnethol smoke was Tareyton lights. Either that or some Peter Stokkebye Roll Your Own.
