Sorry to change the subject. The OP obviously is knowledgeable, as are many posters here, so this is not directed at them. But someone out there must be a complete doofus:

There's plenty more:

$690 for the Fuji S 1500? There are about a dozen stores on gmarket selling it for insanely inflated prices.

Would someone explain this to me, please. What kind of idiot would pay this much for a cheapo camera?

The price for the Finepix S1500 in the States? $168 on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-FinePix-Digital-Stabilized-Optical/dp/B001QENO7A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1256388219&sr=1-1

Take a look at the second review:

Quote:
The Fuji S1500 seemed to fit the bill and was a comparable price in Singapore to purchasing it here in the USA and had the zoom capabilities and other features I wanted in a compact camera.

It seems that most newer models are twice the price or more in Korea than in the States. However, old models, especially discontinued models can sometimes be about the same price as in the States, which makes it all the more puzzling.
