It isn't for everyone but I think it is a great way to get a small community of people you respect in your profession/interest and share your knowledge.
There will be a lot of consolidation in twitter, this next year. Meaning, people are getting fed up with those who just self promote and want to gain followers. It isn't about that and I see the devolution of twitter as the future. Small micro groups.
Have you ever been at a conference where they've used twitter. I did one event and pulled up many of the best teachers in ELT. The audience asked questions and they tweeted in real time. Amazing collaboration in bite size.

A lot of people do have their iPhones PDAs in their hands nearly 24/7...and they blog, facebook and twitter.
where does one draw the line with this stuff!
a lot of it is because people are narcissistic, too. |
