Yes, Goldblum would need Will Smith as a partner to be effective. I think that would blow the budget. We would have to cancel the open armageddon bar.
We could probably get Ben Browder and Claudia Black for a steal. |
Eh? Wasn't Goldbum in that meteor movie 'Armegeddon?' |

Ah yes. But he did a good job in Independance day, so let's have him teamed up as Bruce's sidekick. |

Goldblum also starred in Jurrasic Park, (severely injuring his leg in the process of leading TRex away from the kids), & we all know how well that movie ended!
| Quote: |
| Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm: A mathematician and chaos theorist. He warns of the danger of resurrecting dinosaurs and becomes Hammond's main opposition. He also falls for Sattler, another in a long line of romantic interests. Goldblum was Spielberg's first choice, and he is a big fan of dinosaurs. To prepare for his role, Goldblum met with James Gleick and Ivar Ekeland to discuss chaos theory. |

| So, does 2012 also announce the recoming of dinosaurs? If so, better get Dr. Grant on the job as well. |

Its all moot anyway, with the budget we give NASA they can only afford Bruce Campbell. |

| I've often wondered if garbanzo beans, dangling in the summer breeze, asked each other if 2012 would be their year. |

The Mayans were way off.
Their 2012 happened hundreds of years ago already. |

Disagree. It was the Aztecs & Incas that the Spanish either destroyed or assimilated. I'm no expert on preColumbian history, but recall reading it was possibly the Toltecs & then the Aztecs, that conquered most of what is now Mexico. Just one of 88 theories. Drought & disease are others. The peak Mayan civilisation had already passed long before the Spanish arrived.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_collapse (8th & 9th centuries, before the arrival of the Spanish)
| Quote: |
| The Maya peoples never disappeared, neither at the time of the Classic period decline nor with the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores and the subsequent Spanish colonization of the Americas. Today, the Maya and their descendants form sizable populations throughout the Maya area and maintain a distinctive set of traditions and beliefs that are the result of the merger of pre-Columbian and post-Conquest ideas and cultures. |
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_civilization#Colonial_period
But point taken. The Spanish just hastened the end of the Mayas, who were already in decline. Their world ended long ago, although there are surviving pockets of Mayans still living in Mexico today. |
