It was definitely about ties. It was an old book I found at a used book store. It include bow-ties and things you might tie around your neck. Most of them were impractical and involved wrapping the tie 5-6 times around itself. You would either need a really long tie or you'd end up with a short, fat wad hanging from your neck.
